I was saving up to buy Beats as a surprise for my little brother because he's a DJ. I sort of asked him in passing about them and he claimed the cheap ones I gave him from a discount store sounded better. :(

Lol Manix ears hurting is always a good sign for earphones! ha. and pros are the $400 pair right, I almost bought some the other day but figured I would do some research I wish I could compare the pros and studio side by side but I have only been able to compare Solo's to Studios. @Manix do you use your beats to listen and write to?? I'm mainly buying them for writing so I can become more focused on the beat I guess and maybe flow to it more haha! Thanks for the responses!

bit of a headphone guru so listen up bro

anyone who doesnt like beats, is going against the name. BEST... no. good, yes
the bass is nice, it doesnt overpower or mud up the sound but its that base you feel.
the crips of highs and vocals could be better but unless you like it really loud you should be fine.
the frequency range is nice and itll pick up little sounds you didnt notice before.
if u are gonna get beats dont sell short, get the studio. the level above that are uncomfortable and arnt a big step up.
so studios are the way to go, honest trinell's brother was seething... runs in the family i guess hahaha

if you want over ear headphones these are great for the price.

but it u want earbuds the triplefi 10's are amazing. nice bass, more crisp highs and mid and vocals than the beats. the volume goes higher while maintaining clarity and the are great for sound isolation. i cant hear anything lower than a yell while music is playing, even when it isnt it dulls noise.
the stay in well with the foam tips that come with em
these are 165 plus shipping.

if u dont care bout in or over ear, go with triplefi no doubt
but if u want over ear, beats are good man

depends... for listening???.. yeah, any Dr.Dre beats is perfect, I might try the 50 Cent ones as they're newer and might be more developed... but yeah, I would really go for the Solo ones, best for listening.

now, if you want headphones for mixing, recording... get some Senheisers or Audiotechnica (excuse my spelling but those are hard words), which are developed exclusively for that. I made the mistake of buying Dr.Dre studios for mixing... bad bad... however, the listening is great, sweet and confortable...

but yeah, Dr.Dre Solo beats if you want just to listen (y)
