Anyone else watch this movie, it's really good. Like I said before it's a supehero movie without all the supergay shit (self righteous dongs, retarded costumes) though the next movie alludes to the former of being a possibility. I was a bit disappointed in that there wasn't as much action as I expected but the next movie will probably have that as well as finding the source of their powers and to the full extent of what they can do with it.

I just watched this the other night and have to say I was a bit disappointed. If they made a second one and it explains everything more then I could actually enjoy how it was played out more. But until they do it's dumb that they didn't explain shit.

Also some of the other things were weird to me. I won't go into much detail as to not ruin it for anyone. But overall.. Eh. It's alright I was just expecting a little better/more I guess. Didn't care for the end either.

Word but if Matt's in the next movie he said that he'll try to find the source of their powers, something tells me that they're also not alone and there's probably others out there like them with the same set of powers. I have a feeling the next movie's definitely gonna try and explain it's origin, as well as the possibility of it being more like a superhero movie. The only thing that disappointed me was that there wasn't as much action as I expected other than like a 10 minute hamfisted action scene, though I was cool with them just trying to grasp the extent of their powers rather than turning into a balls to the wall action movie.

I watched it the day it was out in theatres and a couple weeks ago dl'd a DVD rip and rewatched it, I really really like the movie and cannot wait for the sequel.

Yeah it was great I also liked how it was filmed blair witch style, it really added a lot to the movie. This is how to handle superhero esque movies without being corny as shit, and I view it as an Americanized version of Akira. Hopefully that shit never gets a live action which soils the movie and manga.

I haven't watched Akira but I've read about it and I'm very interested in watching it, your thoughts on it?

I'd recommend reading the manga unless you really really prefer movie/anime adaptations in favor of the original cause it doesn't capture the full story and has to cut and paste shit to meet a deadline, watch it maybe to get a feel for the manga but I recommend reading it instead. And I've just started reading it and it is pretty similar, I know it was a big influence on this movie and Tetsuo supposedly has a lot similarities with Andrew "guy with inferiority complex who gets superpowers and abuses it for his own good".

Lol yeah, it did remind me of Akira.
I wasn't expecting it to be decent because of the ridiculous amount of hype, but it was great.

Didn't watch it, because I had a feeling it would be shit.

My friends did, one of them was really excited and he has a huge ego so was like "it was still decent"...the others said it was shit.

I spent my money on 21 Jump Street instead of this. Now THAT was a good movie.
