Fiasco Emulation Games (Who's In?)

Postby Slim Fiasco » Sep 27th, '12, 19:28

After the very successful Fiasco Experiment here comes another challenge. I need 8-20 participants, and on every few days each participant will choose one verse that all the other participants will have to emulate in the next day or two (or three). This is good because it's a great practice for rhyme schemes, and it'll also be fun to see how each member will flip the verse. Just try not to post too long verses. As an example of emulation I'll use Jay-Z 's first verse in The Takeover and Mos Def's first verse in The Rape Over:

[Jay-Z]

The takeover, the break's over, nigga
God MC - me - Jay-hova
Hey lil soldier, you ain't ready for war
R.O.C. too strong for y'all
It's like bringing a knife to a gunfight, pen to a test
Your chest in the line of fire with your thin-ass vest
You bringing them boys to men, how them boys gonna win?
This is grown man B.I., get you rolled into triage, bi-atch
Your reach ain't long enough, dunny
Your peeps ain't strong enough, fucker
Roc-A-Fella is the army - better yet - the navy!
Niggas'll kidnap your babies, spit at your lady
We bring knife to fistfight, kill your drama
We kill you motherfucking ants with a sledgehammer
Don't let me do it to you, dunny, cause I overdo it
So you won't confuse it with "just rap music"

[Mos Def]

The rape over, turn your face over nigga
No god in disguise it's me, game over
Hey lil souljahs you're ready for more?
But don't ask what you're fighting for
They thought that you sur--vived the gunfight, the drama, the stress
You get in the line of fire we get the big ass cheques
You gettin your choice to pimp
Make your choice and fall in
This is ho stroll B I, take that cock in your behind, Beatch
Hit the streets and perform for us
Hold hard and bring it on to us, fucker
I let you sip, comes an army, get a Mercedes
And kick back and let you pay me, my Mack is crazy
I leave the, knife and fist fight filled with glamour
Yeah, take a picture what this platinum plated sledgehammer
We over-do it add the fire and explosion to it
We're so confused so we run rap music

If you accept the challenge, post this in a separate post:

I don't understand what we'd do for this. Find another artist's verse which sounds similar to the one picked for us? Or do we write our own...? You didn't make it clear whatsoever.

You find some verse by an established rapper, and then all the participants will make a verse of their own that will be similar in a way (mainly rhyme scheme wise) to that original verse.
