Don't know many stand up comedians, though i agree. He can be funny but he's not the genius some people here make him out to be

Louis CK is a modern day Carlin. Their style is quite similar.
Personally, Joe Rogan is my favorite comedian. Ari Shaffer is funny as well. The dude who makes me laugh most, though, is Aziz.

Louis CK is completely honest.
Regardless of whether you're into his style, that guy puts it out there. His schtick isn't really schtick. And he's constantly writing material. The guy makes jokes like Eminem makes verses, it's just a non-stop flow of self deprecating humor and truth mixed in with social commentary. He doesn't really have a "character" like a lot of contemporary comedians seem to have.
Comedy is one of those things that come down to taste too. Louis C.K. is one of the great contemporary comedians to me though, along with Dave Chappelle.
