Top 5 Favorite TV Shows Characters?

Postby Slim Fiasco » Mar 7th, '13, 13:59

I'm sure all of us here are fans of some TV shows and there's always that character that is one of the main reasons why we like a show so much so let's make some lists. You don't have to give explanations as I am going to, but you're welcomed to do it. So anyway, my list is the following:

Image
05. Carlton Banks - The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

OK, so Will was the star of the show and he perfected "goofiness" with his portrayal of, well, Will, but there was one other character that was more unique and funny in an awkward way. Carlton's naive personality led to a lot of scenarios where he got trolled real hard and there's nothing like his angry and anxiety-driven moods. There were also many times when he would look down on people and mistake his education with knowing what is actually going on. My favorite scene with Carlton is in that episode with Tyra Banks when he will try to hide her from Will, and just when he starts to dance with her and pulling some moves, Will comes in and it turns out they know each other upon which they start hugging like crazy. Cartlon's reaction to this is just hilarious, he begins to yell "No, no" in a severe disbelief. His singing is also great.

04. Sheldon Cooper - The Big Bang Theory

What I liked about this show is that the seasons kept getting better and better with the first four, and while the last two haven't been that great, I still find myself watching each new episode. Sheldon is easily the star of the show and his social intelligence is the complete opposite of his actual IQ. It's really awesome when he starts blabbing some random trivia that no one gives a fuck about, when he makes fun of people without realizing that he may hurt their feelings, or when he goes into hypochondria and OCD states of mind. I also love that he delivers references to all sorts of nerdy stuff including video games and comics. My favorite scene is probably when he daydreamed about being the Flash and when he "went" to the grand canyon and stuff.

03. Chandler Bing - Friends

I love sarcasm and Chandler is the prime example of how to execute it. I won't say much about him given that everybody is well acquainted with Friends, but he did a real excellent job throughout the show, even though it was the first few seasons when he was at his best. In fact, Chandler was probably the best character in the early seasons, while Joey was the best in the later ones. Ross was great constantly and my favorite moments from the series are with him. But back to Chandler, I loved his struggle with not to smoke cigarettes. That time when he took a smoke from the behind of Rachel's boss while she was holding a cigarette was priceless. However, my favorite scene is probably when they first saw footage of Monica being fat, and when Monica said something like "the camera adds 10 pounds", Chandler added "Jesus Monica, how many cameras were on you?". Lol.

02. Barney Stinson - How I Met Your Mother

Well, you all know Trimss so there's not much to say here. But seriously, Barney is the real star of HIMYM. Of course, the show's quality has declined enormously since the first season, but at its peak, Barney was so outside-the-box and funny. All the different scenarios of picking-up women, the classic legen (wait for it) dary, the high-fives, the theories regarding human tendencies, the challenges accepted, the suits, it was all awesome and delivered perfectly. If I had to pick a favorite Barney moment, it's probably when Lilly and Robin were about to fight and I think Ted interrupted them so Barney got real mad and punched a hole in the wall, the reason being - "You never brake a chick fight".

01. Seth Cohen - The O.C.

The O.C. may look like the regular teen drama crap from afar, but the first 2 seasons were actually really great, and something else. The show was from the point of view of the alternative guys in the community of rich assholes and it basically satirized that whole aspect of life. At its core, the friendship and family relations among the main characters were just perfect. The music was also there to add to the effect, for the songs that got played were mainly from alternative (indie rock) bands; and they were dope. Seth Cohen pretty much made being nerdy a cool thing, and him and Lupe Fiasco are the best examples of how awesome a nerd can be (maybe that's why I'm such a fan). I could relate a lot to the character, plus I was the same age at the time when the show first aired over here, so I'm biased to say the least. But anyway, Adam Brody has perfect comedic delivery and given that this show isn't a comedy, his sarcastic and neurotic remarks turned out that much funnier. In combination with the love for comic books and alternative music, the character was made legendary. It also worked very well because the bromance between him and Ryan, as well as the relation to his father (arguably the best father in all of TV, Peter Gallagher was amazing as Sandy Cohen) just showed how great can friendship and family be. Add the fact that all of this took place in California, and you realize that all the elements for something amazing were there. Too bad the show got ruined in the 3rd season which led to an early cancellation with season 4.

Yeah, he jumped on the sofa and told some nasty stuff to Phill.
I laughed the most when in a hristmas episode, Will had a fight with a dude over the phone, and told him "come here and tell me that" or something like that. The bell rings, Geoffrey comes and says that there is a gentleman on the door that has some bussiness with Will. Will gets all tough and tells him to let him in and the face and the voice of Geoffrey when he says "Mr. Evander Holyfield" is hilarios.

And all the comments about Phills weight.
