Nas definitely lost the day he signed with Jay-Z. Jay-Z is getting money from every album Nas sells.

Nas won the beef and Ether was far harder hitting of a diss track than Takeover (even though I still think it's a great diss track too), I don't give a shit how many jets or cars Jay-z owns. Or whether not he sells the most records, Jesus you guys sound like 50 cent fans.

Also one hot album every ten year average is retarded when Jay z is just as inconsistant as Nas is with his disco probably more so. Illmatic, Iww, Stillmatic, The Lost Tapes, God's Son, Hip Hop Is Dead, Untitled, Life is Good. Yeah that sounds like one hot album every ten year average, and even if we go by the time that line was dropped in 01, Nas still had 2 great albums per 2 bad-mediocore albums which is really not that awful (oh and if you count The Firm I guess), whereas Jay's been in the game shorter and dropped that boring snoozefest the dynasty.

But they pretty much buried the feud by the time Nas signed with Jay-z, even if Jay-z is more successful than Nas (he's pretty much more successful than every rapper alive disregarding just album sales). The fact that Jay-z was reported to having cried from Ether, to it being codified slang for when someone gets whipped (along with Renegade even though it sounds stupid), and just the fact that Jay-z retaliate with Supa Ugly proves how hard it resonated with Jay (having to bring up Nas' baby momma into the beef).

Regardless Jay-z is more successful and all that but that doesn't mean much, unless you base his worth of that. And it's not like Nas has to resort to selling CDs out of his trunk, he's still one of the most lauded rappers and still sells quite a bit, as well as still puts out quality material.

I know it's not just about disses but people to undermine Ether and think it's all just ugly or gay jokes, when really what Nas said had more relevance than the disses in Takeoever (Nas falling off and all that shit, when really it doesn't hold up much anymore), as opposed to Jay z being a biter and a groupie (that's very debatable)

Oh I know should shut up now, but while I know you're not insinuating it's just about sales. Nas never made a deal with Jay-z like 50 cent did to Kanye West about who sells more and take an embarassing L like 50 did. At it's core it was always about who would be the contender for King of NY, and really I believe it all started because Jay was such a big Nas stan (who btw codified Stan into hip hop vernacular despite it being an Em song) and felt slighted when Nas wouldn't respond to him, so he dissed him.

If it was all about sales than 50 cent would be or was the King of Ny which I'd debate to no end, cause I find his music awful.
