Ever since I've started making music people have been making fun of me. It's not the fact I'm bad (I actually doubt they've heard a single bar), it's the fact that it's the cool thing to do. It's hard to have conversations with anyone at my school anymore except with a few people due to the fact that I know they're mocking me.
After I got back from New York (where I saw em at G Shock) I was expecting all this shit to be over... OH FUCKING HELL I WAS WRONG!
Hey! (insert real name here) I HEARD YOU WERE ON TOUR BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
WHERE WERE YOU? ON TOUR BAHAHA
I seriously hate life (don't worry, I'm not going to kill myself lol). I was never socially awkward growing up and I would always try talk to everyone but after this experience and getting jumped whilst on my holiday, I've noticed myself becoming afraid of people. I'm trying to avoid all social interaction.. I get sweaty just going up to a store counter.
The saddest thing is that I really thought things were finally going to change for me once I got back... fuck me.

Welcome to Australia dawg. Hip Hop artists get no respect over here. That's why we all have to come up battle rapping.JamaicanPattlez wrote:Dawg, trust me. They're going to laugh at you and ether the FUCK outta you because of the dream you chase. But what you need to remember is to NEVER give up and let bitch niggas psyche you out. 9 times out of 10 they have no idea how difficult the Hip Hop grind really is, so of course they'll laugh till the shoe's on the other foot. I went through the same thing when I started out too. It's the work you put in that matters, nobody's born with the ability to write rhymes, it's a skill, you hone your craft. Sharpen your sword. I got a ways to as well, but growth is everything. Always keep working. And pay them no mind cause they'll be the SAME motherfuckers who'll come up to you and look at you for favors when you prove that you mean what you say.
Thank you so much broIt feel so good to have another artist tell me something like that

Eedee wrote:Also, adding to what JP is saying, the following is important as fuck.
Learn how to mix vocals. That's huge. It's a very important part of being a rap artist.
Also, not needed AS much, but it's pretty crucial IMO, learn how to make beats. I have so much respect for rappers who make their own beats. It's not an easy skill to learn. Fuck, I'm still a beginner of beat-making. It's fun too.
