Electric/Gas dilemma

Postby Just Silver » Oct 14th, '13, 13:59

now i know most of you arent American but id still like your take on this

as you may or may not know i have to pay everything myself i get 700$ a month and thats the same amount as my rent

Most recently though i have been getting 100$ from my newest roommate for spending money

we also have cable that is paid by Trace /new roommate although she makes min. payments

my bills are like 200/gas 200/electric or a little higher by now

no one wants to help so they told me to wait till they get shutoff

Is this stupid? whats your outlook and have you ever been shutoff from utilities :'(

once it is shutoff however my roommate will switch in his name /old roommate

Fucking hell. >.> I get like 1500 of your American dollars....net. I like stalling on my bills sometimes then make the payment whenever they call me up or whatever lol. Gives me time to save and shit. But yeah, get a second/weekend job if you're struggling. Also consider maybe getting a place of your own. Great investment and worthwhile especially if you're still young.

Edit: and don't give me that bullshit Aspergers excuse. My 16 year old cousin has Aspergers and is working at Best Buy on weekends. And he's built a computer from spare parts. You can't use that as a reason why you can't get a job like "ohh I have such a bad disability, I can't get a job because of it".

i shouldn't have to work extra to support my roommates thats basically all im sorta gettin at also thebig thing was i wanted to see if anyone else had their electricity shutoff

i wanted insight not ignorance /trolling

everyone else doesnt work that i live with as well but its fine they dont work i suppose

Kick them out and look for a job silver, there's too many jobs out there dude and I don't wanna listen to any excuses like how you can't take a bus, or you live to far or any other excuses because that's what they are just excuses from you.

i heard that its justdebt though meaning id be able to pay it little by little when the name is switched over it doesnt go against credit

You and all of your roommates should have jobs and you should split everything equally. If you live with people who think some should pay more than others... look for new roommates.

Most importantly.. get a job. Living off of disability isn't cute at such a young age. You'd solve almost all of your problems if you'd just go get a job.

You don't have any family that you can move in with for a few months until you get a job and save some money up? Not one decent friend? If worst came to worst, you could always look for new roommates to move in with, too.

bigray wrote:Well if you owe money and you don't pay it for example a heating bill, after while they can transfer your name to a collection agency and they'll start to call you to collect the money and if you don't pay than your name will be in the system for having bad credit, so when you try to apply for a credit card, or anything else that requires a credit check most likely they'll deny you.

yea they dont do that here for utilities i guess it costs companies more to deal with credit here
