newer movies vs older movies

Postby Just Silver » Dec 16th, '13, 17:04

Now what I mean by newer is 2000-present

For me classics will never be beaten at least until there are enough years passed by to be more comparative

Classics like forest gump, scarface, home alone series, every good Disney movie etc

Never watched a movie prior to 2000 that beat out Memento.

Shawshank Redemption, Good Fella's, Casino, Donnie Brasco, Juice, scarface, Faceoff there's lots but Memento is a master piece though.

Memento to me is considered an older movie...its 14 years old snake...almost older than you lol

But Silver said 2000 and above. Memento was made in 2000.

Shawshank....maybe. The rest I don't agree with. Memento was INNOVATIVE. It was just so different. Its entire idea and theme just puts it above the rest imo.

Wouldn't say the fact that it has a different idea and theme than other movies necessarily makes anything better than anything else...It's just that the concept coupled with the execution is amazing, which can be the case with concepts not all too untraditional in the first place.

honestly yeah there are shit movies in every era, but let's not act like certain eras or decades aren't better than another in terms of preponderance of quality films being vomited out, there are things such as golden ages you know... I do like a lot of post 2000 movies tho
