quick question on citing dictionaries

i'm doing a research paper and when i gave it to my teacher to proofread she said i did my parenthetical citations for my dictionary source wrong :unsure:


so my question is when you cite, would it be (word, page number) or (dictionary name, page number) :unsure:

this is mla format btw

a reply before 10pm pst would be nice :sweating:

dictionary's go like this

(TheNameYouGaveItInYourBibliography, TheWordYouLookedUp)

then when you cite your sorces, whatever the first thing in the listing for the listing is what you use so if

Webster, ed. "TheWordIlookedUp." Def. 2. Websters. 1st ed. 2004.

because i listed that by editor (Webster, ed. ...)
it would be

(Webster, TheWordIlookedUp)


page numbers are never listed for dictionaryies, they don't even go in the works cited page, and definatly don't go in the acutall paper
