record labels

Postby Mc Cubz » Sep 8th, '07, 21:48

does ne1 even get signed nemore

about 20% of male youths in my city mc, wht chance does one have.

do labels care at all wht u have to say i.e. positive mesages

will uk hiphop ever take off it certainly hasn't so far ppl can give exceptions to this and i knw them all but lets be honest even dizzie rascal isnt tht big reli and hes probably the most famous uk urban mc/rapper, same with kano he bin on mtv base but still not tht big i onli knw about 4 of his songs lol, i think it has alot to do with the fact tht most mcs in uk chat bollocks tbh, wht they say is shit, same wid pop,

with all this friggin downloading tht i am also guilty of how does this relate to labels, will it mean more or less ppl will get signed etc

please share wid me ur thought on this or how u react to the label side of the music industry in both the uk usa and newere els where rap labels operate to whteva degree :worship:

dizzie is no were near the level of the best uk rappers (aka akala n sway)

n its coz uk rappers dont sell themselves out like the u.s rappers, rappers form america will make an ass shaking party and/or crunk track so they will get notice from a record label, uk rappers dont care about all that shit, they stay true to the art form :y:

conclusion for my opinion hes gud but i wudnt listen to him.

i knw this sounds abit silly to sum ppl, but these days i think the most famous are not the best, like the main rapper i always hear about doing gigs etc is kayne west hes constantly on tv etc etc while i think theres better rappers on tr. someone sed the other day tht his new track stronger is amazin i think its arite cos of all the mixing techniques used but he aint as gud as he is famous, I dont understand lol,

@ gkilla - I think, well its just my opinion, tht u have a similar style to mike skinner, obviously u didnt copy him dont wury I knw tht, but he has been rapping for 7 years and I knw u haven't tht long, he had 3 albums and is still not anything special, he just has more meaninful lyrics than most foolish mcs in uk, but ur lyrics are better in terms of meaning u just need to learn about rapping generally for abit and u will officially produce beta tunes than him in my opinion, and kila is underated on tr let alone in the uk, and mike skinner is massive for a uk rapper has 150 000 friends on myspace lol its crazy.

so how this relates to record labels, and the 'rap game' its quite fuked up lol, the best mcs are still on the streets, also another point re this, if famous mcs were better than normal guys, we wudnt do it cos we wud sound so shit compared to them, but i got friends tht make beta shit than mike skinner/kano/wiley ne day of the week, theyre jus poor and never had any breaks.

TRUE hip hop is a dying artform.

The sales and the rappers classed 'mainstream' prove my point, there all fucking sellouts.

The true hip hop head is sick of the multi-millionaire rapping about slinging crack and struggling whereas the average teenager tryna be 'accepted' by his peers loves it.This forumla alone stands to kill hip hop as we knew and loved it.
