School = Career. Career = Double the money, 1/4 the amount of work

then call him a fucking idiot. Then tell him the rest of his life is going to suck

Actually, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

He's just jealous. Or he's just accepted the fact that he'll never do anything better with his life other than work everyday for just over minimum wage and hates everyone that gets to do better with their life.

I'm against college, but not based on that idiotic reasoning.

A respectable bachelors degree in medicine can earn you around 90-110$ per hour, probably more if you have good experience, in my university and in my faculty we gave a 45 year old man in his 3rd yr of medicine, he ranks in one of the top three if his class
so yea

Yeah I think it all depends on what you go to school for. I mean, they dont really tell you what jobs pay the most money.

I mean, they say "medicine" but that can be anything.

I know plenty of people then went to school for 4 years and only make 35-40k a year. My dad only has a high school diploma and makes about 60k a year. However, he's been doing his job for 10+years to get that much.

On the other hand, with a degree you most likely not going to be doing manual labor, where most of the time, with only a high school diploma, you doing some sort of manual labor.

I think I would rather make less money with a degree, then more money doing manual labor

They do rob your blind when it comes to taking random classes. But its the same shit like when you were in highschool takin algebra and you asked your teacher "Why do I need to take algebra? I aint gunna have no job that requires knowing this shit"

Its basically to make you a well rounded individual. Yes, you are paying a rediculous amount of money to do what you want to do, but, if you were going for something in the medical field, and only took the classes that had to do with that field of work...Then you would only be as smart as your profession.

I used to disagree with taking classes that I felt like didnt matter.

Till I started talking to people who didnt listen or do work in highschool. I may use algebra in my daily life today, or chemistry, or apply rules of physics to anything. But, learning that shit and being apart of the classroom made me 3 times as smart as a normal highschool drop out ( or someone who just didnt listen ).

And I dont mean smart like, I can mutiply faster than you can. I mean just common sense and shit.

I've never been to college, but Im sure that shit applies as well.

You may being going to school to be a doctor, but taking a philosophy class isnt going to hurt. Its going to help you in the long run because you will learn how to look at things in a different way.
