chambers wrote:college is corrupt as shit......
i'm spending all this money to take physics...which needs calculus.....which needs pre-calc and trig....
i need to take 3 more chemistry classes.....
i had to take philosophy....or a religion class
i was going for something in biology....prolly in the medical field like doctor or nurse
so why do i need many of these classes.....its all for the money....and i'm not even guarentee'd a job....

llockhart86 wrote:They do rob your blind when it comes to taking random classes. But its the same shit like when you were in highschool takin algebra and you asked your teacher "Why do I need to take algebra? I aint gunna have no job that requires knowing this shit"
Its basically to make you a well rounded individual. Yes, you are paying a rediculous amount of money to do what you want to do, but, if you were going for something in the medical field, and only took the classes that had to do with that field of work...Then you would only be as smart as your profession.
I used to disagree with taking classes that I felt like didnt matter.
Till I started talking to people who didnt listen or do work in highschool. I may use algebra in my daily life today, or chemistry, or apply rules of physics to anything. But, learning that shit and being apart of the classroom made me 3 times as smart as a normal highschool drop out ( or someone who just didnt listen ).
And I dont mean smart like, I can mutiply faster than you can. I mean just common sense and shit.
I've never been to college, but Im sure that shit applies as well.
You may being going to school to be a doctor, but taking a philosophy class isnt going to hurt. Its going to help you in the long run because you will learn how to look at things in a different way.
