Thanks, it’s been real
I love you but I just can’t deal
With the stress this game is giving me
But, before I go, you know I can’t close the show
Without no…
I feel like this was meant to be the last song on Curtain Call, as well as the last song of his career. Curtain Call was called that because Eminem wasn't sure if he'd ever rap again at that point. The lyrics and tone of It's Been Real makes me believe it was a farewell to his fans. I've heard people say it was the same concept as 25 To Life, I don't think so. It sounds like it was made around when Curtain Call came out, plus the "close the show" line goes with the whole Eminem Show/Encore/Curtain Call theme. What do you all think?
It's pretty chilling when you think about it, that he very may have made this song as a farewell.
