It depends though.

Britney Spears would do songs like Don't Stop the Music, Only Girl, Disturbia, SOS, Umbrella, S&M, etc.

But Britney would never do songs like Unfaithful, Te Amo, Take a Bow, What's My Name?

Britney and Katy Perry's main producer is Dr. Luke (he actually produced That's All She Wrote, as well as E.T. and Magic by B.o.B, so he CAN do urban beats), who is primarily a pop producer.

Whilst Rihanna's main producer is Stargate, who are primarily urban producers, although they do a lot of pop songs too. They work for Def Jam/Roc Nation.

I think, for the most part, I could easily tell apart a Rihanna beat from a Britney/Katy beat, even without the vocals.

^Yeah and don't forget Umbrella was first offered to Britney but I'm not referring to the beats, I doubt they have anything to do with that side of the production aside from saying whether like it or not. I'm referring to the type of artists they are; not strong vocalists, more about putting on a show with their clothes, dancing etc.

As artists I don't see one having more talent than the other yet I can't see Em working with the other two. I just don't get the pairing outside of a song like LTWYL which Em probably figured Rihanna could relate to given the Chris Brown thing.

I think Umbrella was offered to pretty much every pop artist, so it seems. :D Everybody must've been going crazy fighting over it (understandably, that was one of the most popular songs of last decade, everybody seemed to love it when it eventually got released). I'm glad Rihanna and Jay-Z got to do it in the end though.

My point was with listing the producers and everything though, was that Rihanna is slightly closer musically to Em than Katy and Britney are. Probably because she's on a hip hop/RnB record label.
