I can't find any proper XXL rating reviews of any of his albums online... even Relapse and Recovery which are modern-era releases... why?
They did a little staff breakdown of Recovery and some weird chart of Relapse; why not proper XXL reviews like they do with every other album?

My only thought is that they may feel that people would see their relationship with Eminem as a conflict of interest. It's far from what I would call the definite answer, but it's the only one I can think of.
That's the staff breakdown that EminemBase mentioned in the original post. It's not a "proper" review, if you will. It's a chat, without an actual rating. It's even listed in the News section, as opposed to Reviews. Not that it isn't interesting; that Rob character sounds a lot like some people here.
@EminemBase, why aren't you in the "Symphony in H" thread?! I thought for sure you'd be all over it once it broke that it's self-produced.

They have a very close relationship. People might think that they would give him higher ratings than he deserves due to the fact that he generally goes to them when he's putting something out. He does special features with them that he wouldn't necessarily do with another magazine.
It's all speculation though, that might not be the reason at all. I'm just not sure what it could be, if not that.

Reviews were/are always all about politics to be honest... on top of it a reviewer could always be biased or let alone ignorant too.
