Fuck haha.

I was at school when the album leaked. Most people were listening to the album in order and shit, but I had to skip to Headlights. I dunno why, I just wanted to know what direction Eminem and Nate would go with this track. The name, Nate's style, everything really interested me.

So anyways I'm at school with my laptop set up (skipping class cause I knew the album would leak..true Stan stuff right there). I hear Eminem saying how his mom is beautiful and he apologizes for Cleaning Out My Closet and I couldn't believe it. Then in the second verse when he said "I love you Debbie Mathers" and started saying how he was sad when she was leaving and stuff. I didn't cry (and I haven't yet) but it was really fucking sad and I couldn't believe it and the production was insane and I actually really liked Nate's hook and verse so it was crazy.

Aint going to lie my eyes got a bit watery and i felt extremely sad for him and his mother, this wasnt something he sat down to write so he can sell a million, it feels like a song he wrote when he was extremely sad and just sat down one day and laid pen to paper. Some of his best music happens like this, a spontaneous emotional reaction, thats why MMLP was so good he wrote most of it on the road while shit just happened to him. This is an example of reactionary writing, he even talks about being on a plane while writing this, im just speculating though.

That could be it, but I guess that's just something he though it was nice to add to the song

I teared up on the first listen and it still brings chills. My mom has had to be a mother and father for me since my dad passed away when I was 12, and it just makes me think about her sacrifices. I love that Em is mature enough to make a song like this now after all the things he's said about her in the past. This song.. :'(
