So hes contractually done right?

Postby Kmahrle83 » Oct 31st, '13, 21:49

Wasn't this em's last album on interscope/aftermath? If so, I hope he releases his next album without the voices of paul and the record label in his ear. He should fund it himself and literally put out the album HE WANTS....aka without songs like monster and survival and w/o anyone telling him what he can and can't do. I'd be really interested in hearing what THAT sounds like...

I think he should just focus on his artists. Maybe try to break Shady out of interscope and just do features/production/managment.

It would be interesting to see what Em could do Indie.

My laser disc'll make you take a razor to your wrist,
Make you Satanistic, make you take the pistol to your face
and place the clip and cock it back
and let it go until your brains are rippin out
your skull so bad to sew you back would be a waste of stitches

At this point in his career he signs single album deals with Interscope, so he's contractually done each time he finishes an album. Then when it's time for him to come out with a new one, he just signs a new deal with Interscope. I doubt Eminem will leave Interscope at this point. Plus, I don't believe that Eminem faces as much pressure from the label as people think. Eminem has all the negotiating power with his label because he can easily go elsewhere or his own, and both parties know that. Interscope will do almost anything to keep him on.

I have a hard time believing this is his last....if it was I think they would have played it up in the marketing for it

Well you have a good point there. I just say that because alot of artists seem to announce it now...but then a couple years later they come back lol

Maybe he just wanted to see how this album went (he obviously cares a lot about how his fans see him), and he left it *somewhat* open for a follow up or a retirement?
