Hey OP good luck, and nice read. I myself had to go through opiate withdrawals and dealt with it for years. I"m now 6 years clean and A LOT of it had to do with Em's music as corny as it sounds. It's like he can see what we're going through and push us through it through his own life stories. My family doesn't get my obsession with his music but then they were NEVER supportive while I was trying to get clean either. It's almost as if EM was the only one there for me through the bullshit....Him and my gorgeous wife (the girl in my sig).

Good read OP and keep on keepin on bro. Ever need any advice on getting your head straight, feel free to PM me anytime man. Always there for a fellow addict and stan.

I'm very pleased to read all of your responses. Generally, I don't allow myself to take the things people post on the internet to heart as generally people use the mask of anonymity that the internet grants them to (for the first time in their lives) talk down to people for their problems.

That doesn't seem to be the case here.

Actually, it would amount to somewhat of an interesting sociology project to see what personality traits, mannerisms, morals/values/ethics, etc. the die-hard fans of certain artists/bands seem to portray. I'll bet there would definitely be some patterns.

Surely enough, the people that are fans (for the most part, seemingly) of Eminem to enough of a degree in which they sign up on a forum like this and post in threads like this... like myself... seem to be accepting and supportive of people like me when admitting to real faults like I have.

Thanks guys/girls.

For sure man, and the people who talk down to others and their problems only seem to do so to mask their own insecurities and problems. Everyone has problems. Big or small. Doesn't matter as long as you can get through them however you find best to do so.

A nice read man and I agree whole heartedly. Em's music to me has so much more of an impact then any artist and I think because even though I'm only 23 and he's 41 it's like I grew up with him to some degree. It's been a great 14 years following his music.

Man... you said everything I wanted to say, with such passion. THANK YOU for that.

HE FUCKING DID IT. THANK YOU TOO, EM! ALWAYS BELIEVED. YOU REALLY ARE THE GOAT!
"So one last time, I’m back
Before it fades into black and it’s all over
Behold the final chapter in the saga,
Trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice
The magic that started it all
Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings
Tapping the thoughts
Blacker and darker than anything imaginable
Here goes a wild stab in the dark
As we pick up the last Mathers’ last art"

Great read man, sorry to hear about your problems. I'm sure if Em read this he'd be glad to know the shit he went through can help someone else. As someone who has made music as a hobby, you always wanted to touch people personally not just have them like your songs.

Good luck, brother.
