All I know is when Recovery came out people enamored it. In 6 months, people will change their minds about MMLP2 and think it aged poorly. They will say they need a better album, something fresh. I'm already saying it. In fact this album will age as bad as Recovery and people will not think MMLP 2 is good. It's not good. It's trash. It's as bad as Recovery. When Recovery came out, people loved Talkin To myself, CWB, Never Over, etc

TBH you're right in a lot of this..
People are so on "Stronger Than I Was" and "Headlights".. they're not good songs, Headlights is okay at best but y'all call it classic, I dont see it.. he said sorry to his mom.. big fucking deal.. and people will find them on their skip list sooner than later.. I am pretty sure of it..
Will revist that in a year.. lol

I can see why people rate Relapse higher than Recovery, but Encore > Recovery? Nope.

All the MMLP2 does is show how mediocre Recovery is.

Or well, Recovery showed how mediocre Recovery is.

MMLP2 just emphasized it.

If you take all of the good songs of Encore vs all of Recovery then Encore is better.. but as a whole album you have to consider the bullshit songs so I agree.. but it's not by a long shot lol

I have this particular opinion, and a few (very few) members on TR also have it :p

The best songs on Recovery wipe the floor with Encore. What songs would you consider better than On Fire, Going Through Changes or Almost Famous?

Well, Encore have that shitty middle part, but Recovery is also very inconsistent.

I don't like T2M, WBD, You're Never Over, Cinderella Man, Not Afraid, Cold Wind Blows (and I get a lot of hate for this) and W.T.P.

Encore's first segment is great, and the 2nd is good, imo.

Idk if this contributes or not but all of em's albums will probably see a little bump in sales

Nah, probably not. I consider Recovery and Relapse to be about equal for me, and I consider MMLP2 to be a decent bit better than both. I go through phases with the first two, though I think it's easier to get into Relapse than Recovery. Just like sonically, even with the accents, Relapse is a bit more intriguing to me. The production on Recovery, while not really offputting, is a bit of a barrier for me on some songs.

1st off On Fire isn't that great, Going Through Changes sonically makes me wanna drive my car off a bridge and Almost Famous is JUST GOOD.. if you think those songs top any of the good songs on Encore you're eating bags of dick for dinner.. TBH that's an opinion I just can't buy into.
We As Americans, Like Toy Soldiers, Never Enough, Mosh, Spend Some Time, Mockingbird, Encore, Love You More* >>> Recovery

I swear people just get caught up like sheep in their flocks.. you all hate Encore so much but forget how many awesome gems were on there. Or you just have shitty taste in music. The production of Encore also whipes the floor with Recovery.. by a LONG shot.

You can keep your punchlines right next to your copy of Da Carter IV
