How is this incomparable?

Yes, Nas did it first, so he wins in that sense..

but for god sakes..he had the best producers in the land, he was extremely hyped up. he had awesome studios and amazing mixing

Em? He had to fight just for a chance to get some studio time. He had limited beats to work with, and no recognition. He was still able to make a great album in my opinion.

Lyrically, even though Em copied, they were both awesome

So how can you say you can't compare it?

"Infinite was me trying to figure out how I wanted my rap style to be, how I wanted to sound on the mic and present myself. It was a growing stage. I felt like Infinite was like a demo that just got pressed up." - On Infinite

these are uncomparable because its comparing a mainstream album to a underground project.

right now i know alot of rappers who release seriously sick underground music, they have some of the best flows/rhymes/wordplay/concepts/beats to every grace hip hop as a whole, but to compare these guys to rappers like eminem or nas would be stupid because they are in different leagues, the other guyrs need to get promoted to a higher level of recognition before they can start debating if there better than nas...you get me ?

now if i ignore the fact that comparing these is pointless, just looking at the music, illmatic is ALOT better and the reason for this, eminem copied nas...the flow the style the rhymes is all nas's style, eminem accepted that and re-invented himself.

either way illmatic shits on infinite as an album, from beats to rhymes to concepts to swagger to character to mixing, illmatic wins in every categorie.

you just dont compare classics with underground albums.
