And Stan is used by so many rappers as it's own term now, he created a whole image with that name.
he also created a bad image for himself with that name. some people think eminem sells cause his fans are all stans and shit, which makes some avoid his music. and also think any eminem fan is a stan lol. but fuck those stupid fucks anyway.
and to me lose yourself definitely wasn't his biggest song as in influenced other rappers. incase you didn't notice slim shady lp was his really big project that got peeps respect. most rappers call eminem slim shady till this day. so i just feel that it musta been a song from slim shady lp that got ppl saying wow. lose yourself only got him the awards and told others emcees i go harder each time. and alot more fans, but still its no way lose yourself got him the buzz from other rappers. unless if your talking about souljah boy rappers who are young and shit lol
There was no particular song that got him respect from other rappers. Joining with Dre was almost instant curiosity as to what he was like. Then the rhymes spoke for themselves. He got himself serious props dropping dope freestyles on The Wake Up Show before he even met Dre. Even from the start of his career, you would oly hear other rapper talk about the ill white rapper Dre had coming out.
I get what your saying but in order to get respect, you gotta have talent, and sell. What your saying is that people knew that a white dude was with Dre, but they needed proof of how worthy he is. Than he released The Slim Shady LP and that album right there got his name, a fucking show isn't gonna give you a name lol. Your first album gives you a name, specially since that album went 3X platinum at the end of it's release date's year and sold $283,000 on its opening week $283, 000 is a lot back in those years. So saying shows got him his name is sad, and so what if he was with Dre? he got more buzz being with Dre but he recorded/wrote that album. It's all Em's success, Dre just helped him.
