His first single is never an indication of how the rest of the album will be apart from maybe Just lose it.People dont like his first singles but its obviously a winning formula and thats probably why he insists on doing them.Of all of them the only one i listen to fairly regularly to this day is Without me the other 3 got old fast.

Eminem has been in a slump lately, way to many club songs etc but im prayin Relapse will be a return to top form his 2nd single will shine a lot more light on the situation.

I'm hoping for a decent album. I know the darkest it will be is like The Eminem Show.

And even though his first single's are poppy, "We Made You" ain't no "Without Me". And last time he had a shitty first single, we had Encore (which was also shitty).

So yeah, I can see Relapse not being hard but let's hope it redeems Em's name.

He doesnt need to be raping his mother on Relapse an album as hard as TES will do nicely.Thats my favorite album of his and i really wish he produced more songs for Relapse i know he gets a lot of stick for his prduction but most of his own best songs are produced by him Dre better bring beats like Fight Music and Revelation then i wont care who produces them.

Eminemnow wrote:Well personally I think "We Made You", obviously the jokey lead single as always is no indication to how Relapse will sound.

Judging from that beat and "Crack a Bottle" though, I've got a feeling there will be a lot of piano production on songs, especially now with the Elton John rumor emerging.

But I can see it being a dark album. Maybe "We Made You" was meant to throw everyone off.

Also, the fact it's called RELAPSE, Proof getting killed, another divorce, the anticipation, the pressure, the recent drug stint, rehab, it all points to it being a dark and powerful album IMO.

In the initial recording stages of Relapse, record producer and long-time Detroit collaborator Jeff Bass of the Bass Brothers worked with Eminem on twenty-five tracks during the two-year period after the rapper had received treatment for his sleeping pill-addiction in 2005.[2][3] Bass described the production of those songs as an attempt to return to Eminem's original sound, similar to The Marshall Mathers LP

And right there, the Bass Bro's said he's trying to return to an MMLP sound. I hope it's not forced but I think it will be as powerful but MORE lyrical because Em has gotten much better at wordplay since MMLP. Whilst not as dark, his wordplay and rhyme structuring has just gone to another level.

Then you have the fact that Royce Da 5'9 recently said he thinks Em's album will change the game. And, as loyal as Royce is to Em now that they're friends again... Royce always stays true to Rap, so I can't see him making a statement like that unless the album was something truly fresh and powerful.

I think Relapse will be powerful but then Relapse 2 will be the powerhouse. Especially given the fact that 50 said Relapse is "a treat" but the second one is "exciting". And, I know they're close friends and he's obviously not gonna say "it's crap" but "exciting" is an exciting complement! To me that signals, fresh, new, dark and powerful.

Also, Em is obviously fully aware that people think he went a bit soft and silly with Encore so the chances of him going anywhere near that type of style is slim to none IMO. He has always kept his ear to the street and inside hip-hop so I bet he's conscious of the expectations and doubts from hardcore hip-hop fans. And at this point in his career with nothing more to prove, I bet he's gonna deliver some truly powerhouse material. It's been five years since a solo album, there's no way he's gonna come soft.

Just don't get your hopes up... He's not gonna scream "I Just Don't Give A Fuck!" or some other shit like that in this new album, for sure. And he's probably not going to diss his wife anymore... They got over it and his children are pretty old enough to follow up so yeah... Supposedly he made up to his mom or the other way around so his only targets left are... CELEBRITIES.

I think that is just blatantly stupid; Encore might not have been a Slim Shady or Marshall Mathers LP but I expect you to post something along the lines of how wrong you were come the 19th of May. I think Relapse is going to be dark, lyrical and hard. All the things that's been on Eminem's mind in the past 5 years has to come out somewhere and Relapse will be how he vents :y:
lifetime bliss for eternal torture and pain.
