Do you think there will be a 2011 Eminem album?

I don't know how and when these rumours begin, but I saw earlier on Twitter rumours of a new 2011 Eminem album. I don't think there will be one though, as much as I'd like one.

I mean, for one look at this...

2009 - Relapse
2009 - Relapse: Re-Fill
2010 - Recovery
2011 - New Studio Album?

^ If there was, it would mean 3 studio albums in 3 years (+ Relapse Re-Fill) and the countless guest collabs he has done. It seems a bit much to me.

I personally think he will spend 2011 focusing on and rebuilding Shady Records, and concentrate on the album releases of Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse and Cashis. It seems likely from what I've been hearing that all three will release albums in 2011.

And don't forget Detox will surely be released sometime in 2011 (we have two official singles and music videos now) and a new Em album this year just doesn't seem likely at all.

I think it could also be a good thing he doesn't release an album in 2011. It will allow him to clear his head and have a long hard think about where he is at, and things he can improve on, and the end result will hopefully be an amazing album in 2012.

I'm sure he'll pop up with a few random guest verses, and is 99.99% sure to have a few collabs on the albums from Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse, Cashis, 50 Cent, and Dre. He'll probably be on Wayne's Carter 4 album too, amongst others.

Oh shit, I forgot D12. Aren't they supposed to be dropping a mixtape AND album this year? I'm sure he'll be involved with that in some way.

So yeah, a 2011 Eminem album isn't happening IMO. Although there should be enough Eminem verses/collabs to tide you over until 2012.

Someone in another thread suggested that Em felt obligated to put out another album (three in three years) because of the five years he spent away from the game, sort of making up for lost time. And I understand that, I just don't want him to burn out.

As much as I would love for there to be a new album, I really don't think there will be. Like you said I think Em will focus on rebuilding Shady Records, and working with D12.

Yeah I can appreciate that, but it would probably be better for Shady Records if he didn't release an album this year. As that would just dominate and overshadow all the other Shady Records releases, and I'm sure he doesn't want that to happen.

Didn't Koolo 'confirm' that there would be an Eminem x Royce EP in 2011 after he spoke to Paul or something? Say what you like about the guy (Koolo) but I have never seen him bullshit.

And yeah, a D12 album would be good enough for me this year too.

I'm sure they aren't finished with Recovery yet though. The Space Bound video is imminent and will be with us fairly soon, but because it's still selling so well, and Space Bound will probably improve sales again, I gotta feeling they will release one final video/single from Recovery in the summer. Probably June/July time, something like Talkin To Myself or Cinderella Man? Or more likely, Won't Back Down

I think there must be SOMETHING for Eminem to promote, August time. Or something major going on.

I don't see why he would travel all the way to the UK just to perform at a festival? He doesn't like travelling at the best of times, and to do so for no apparent reason, other than "just to do it" doesn't sit right with me.

Maybe it's me just being cynical though, and he is literally just doing it so his UK fans have a chance to see him perform live this year

Maybe I'm just dreaming but I think there is a chance of him releasing a "Lost Tapes"-album now that he is trying to rebuild Shady Records and getting a new D12 album out. Considering how many shitty songs that leaks all the time these days, it would only seem natural if he tried to make up for them. Surely Interscope would love to sell a few more records too.
