Is MMLP2 better than GKMC?

Never really like GKMC, even though I brought the album, I listened it but some song is good other ain't that great. I have to listen to it again to judge but i remember listening to Section 8 and i enjoy it more then the album

I think GKMC is the better album but it's also different than MMLP2 so I think they're excellent in their own right. Both albums capture something different and awesome.

Yes MMLP2>GKMC for the simple reason that the quality of the best tracks on the MMLP2 is far superior to that of GKMC. Also while GKMC is more cohesive, it doesn't have the meticulous consideration that went into each one of the songs on the MMLP2. In other words, the MMLP2 has better lyricism, same flow, and better concepts. The only thing that GKMC has going for it is consistency. I avoided personal and introspective, because I feel that both albums do that in their own right.

My dude, the very reason GKMC is so acclaimed is precisely because every song had a purpose and moved the narrative of the album along. It is one of the most focused projects in recent memory.

Hell Yes every song served a purpose. Survival had to be there for the COD deal. What's wrong with Asshole other than a mediocre beat? Em murders his verses. Yes, GKMC was a story. But I can guarantee you that more consideration went into the MMLP2 for the tracks. Kendrick is where Em was with the MMLP- He can make these classics without the kind of consideration that went into making MMLP2. Also the best songs on MMLP2 > best songs on GKMC
It's close, but definitively towards the MMLP2
And no, I'm not some dickriding Stan who tries to jack off to Em's music- I call it how I see it.

It is an unpopular opinion to not love it. GKMC is a good album, I liked the story but the problem for me was that I didn't really enjoy anything else. Only a couple songs had replay value to me, there were several terrible songs that I would never listen to (especially Backseat Freestyle) and I think we can all agree that Kendrick makes terrible hooks.

Good album, but man is it overrated. Musically, MMLP2 is so much better. Eminem is not only a rap genius, but he is a musical genius as well.

MMLP2 has it all. Storytelling, emotional songs, uptempo, smooth, hardcore, lyrics, hooks, content, humor, everything. In my opinion, this album has the best diversity of Eminem's career. It is right up there with SSLP for me, but it will take time for me to decide which is better.

Plus, the bonus tracks on MMLP2 are dope
I actually remember being disappointed with GKMC when it came out, probably because I got caught up in the hype a little bit too much and had huge expectations for it.

MMLP2- 8.9/10
GKMC-7.3/10

This is my opinion, of course, but I personally think that people buy the Kendrick hype a little too much. I think he is very talented and I have hopes for his next album, but musically he isn't up to par with the greats yet.

Honestly GKMC is far better but that isn't to slight MMLP2 so much as prop up GKMC. The themes and production of GKMC are so cohesive and unique it's literally brilliant how the album is put together.

The high points of MMLP2 are higher than GKMC but as a solid lyrical and musical effort GKMC is a front to back story. He took everything the likes of Nas and Tupac did well and put his own spin on it.. It's really genius how compatible it is to Nas' Illmatic.

MMLP2 is a nostalgic album meant for the fans. It's just different in that regard. I love both but GKMC will be remembered as a pinnacle in the new-school hip-hop. Where MMLP2 will be remember by Stans.

I want to add.. Lyrical Eminem is not scathed by K.Dot.. Were just comparing this body of work and it's overall greatness. I don't feel GKMC is over hyped either.. He did everything, every greatest of all time rapper has done and made it better TBH
