I feel both have really strong tracks.
Recovery: Cold Wind Blows, On Fire, Going Through Changes, Seduction (Em goes HAM in this), Almost Famous, Untitled, and the dope bonus stuff on Ridaz and Session One.
Encore: Never Enough, Yellow Brick Road, Mosh, Like Toy Soldiers, Spend Some Time, Mockingbird, and the bonus stuff on We As Americans and Love You More.
But what Recovery doesn't have is absolutely horrendous stuff like Big Weenie, My First Single, Ass Like That, and Just Lose It. Even Recovery's worst cuts like You're Never Over, Love the Way You Lie, Not Afraid are light years better than that stuff.
Is Encore's solid production enough to make up for those 4 records.....not in my opinion. And when you gauge the albums lyrically, Recovery is much better overall. Encore, Ems rhyme schemes were simplified for much of the album, probably due to heavy drug use.
I don't hate any Em album. I enjoyed probably 3/5 of Encore. I consider Encore a decent album with some great stuff and horrible stuff. I consider Relapse or Recovery solid albums, personally. And I consider his first three GREAT.
