basically he's saying you got two picck
1) be quite and behave
2) be awesome at what you do and go get whats yours

those two things are exact opposite, but can both work out in life

@Amadeo, Lollipop was recorded in February 2008 if i remember correctly from a couple interviews

I agree I think the line is dope. But when you don't wanna like an artist, you discredit anything they do. And dick-suck your favorite artist no matter what.

2007 Eminem could not touch Lil wayne in 2007. Eminem's drugged up voice, bitter ass attitude, calling himself a King, get the fuck outta here with that garbage. Even his classic humor and wit was gone.. Nothing clever, just the "hard ass I'ma have one of my people have you killed, hip hop is shit now" type of shit. Imagine if he dropped King Mathers, it would've fell short in so many areas. You'd just get the whining and bitching in every track, woe is me bullshit.

Majority of the posts in this thread :facepalm :facepalm2 :facepalm

Wayne easily, This is the time when he was untouchable in lyrical content as well as popularity.

Weezy at his best (Carter II) would beat Em at his worst (early 2007). If you can't see that than you are deaf and/or (I hate to say this) a Stan. Plain and Simple.

Your calling out Eminem for calling himself a king? What about Lil Wayne always calling himself the best rapper alive, making a song with that title (which sucks) and even has "Greatest Rapper Alive" as a sticker on his worst album (Rebirth)? He is way more up his own ass then Eminem ever was.

Lil Wayne has swag. Eminem was just some fat w1g-ger with a bunch of yes-men like Cashis sucking his dick as if he were really a king. Recovery was a breath of fresh air though, he finally realized how dumb he was.

in 2007 Lil Wayne was making songs like:
Pray to the Lord
La La La
Pussy Money Weed
When They Come For Me
Trouble
Something You Forgot
Kush
I Feel Like Dying
Gossip
The American Dream
How Can Something
Love Me or Hate Me
Talking About It

Eminem could only muster up verses like Peep Show, Touchdown, Pistol Poppin, Syllables

its not even fair if you actually know what the artists were putting out, rather than just thinking "Eminem" and "Lil Wayne"

"be good or be good at it"

He's such... I mean, it's basically this...
read a book or read about a book
think twice or give it a second thought
be the best or be better

It's just fucking... ridiculous, pretentious babble.

Wayne is really bad. The best complement I'll give him is that he isn't ALWAYS awful, he'll occasionally have an OK or even good line. But anybody can come up with occasional okay or good lines, you need more than that to call yourself a lyricist.

Eminem has more personality, wit, innovation and originality on fucking "Big Weenie" than Wayne does for an album.

I see what you're saying, but the example you gave wasn't the best. "Be good or be good at it" is like saying "be good, or be good at being bad", or at least that's how I interpreted it.

Em can still be vicious towards another artist no matter what. Any time he has ever made a diss, he's come out swinging.

He's a natural battle MC. That's how he started. This guy could fuck someone up without a heartrate. Drugs wouldn't stop him.

If wayne was scared of 50 cent in 2009 (one of his worst years) what the fuck makes you think he would even dare go back at eminem for dissing him. Dude was probably thanking god that eminem decided not to diss him, now if wayne was a somewhat better rapper & did his research on eminem he could've killed him in between 06-early 08 because eminem really fell off at that time, he was fat as fuck and wayne could've got on him about proof being dead too.
