Songs that people (the general public) will remember from Eminem obviously are Stan, Lose Yourself, probably Not Afraid. That's all really. They all mark an important turn in Eminem's career, Stan marked his status as blowing up superstar, Lose Yourself is his biggest hit & it's from his movie and declared he's a serious artist, Not Afraid marked his "comeback".

This spark an interesting argument, I was thinking the other day what song can Eminem still perform when he's 50 and a large part of his discography are inappropriated, especially songs from his earlier years.

He could always preface his performances of My Name Is, TRSS, WM with a "let's go way back in time" kind of thing. I think Cleaning Out My Closet would be the most likely song to be cut from his setlists. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be performing Crack a Bottle anymore.

I do think he could pull off songs like Kill You - just 'cause you're 50 doesn't mean you can't still be a murderer.

But yeah, the true Stadium Rockers are Lose Yourself, Stan, Not Afraid, Sing For the Moment, Til I Collapse, and The Way I Am (especially the way he starts it with the chorus now).

And maybe LTWYL.

you do know that his voice gonna sound very deep when he's 50 right? and Eminem rapping songs like my name is, trss.. when he's old gonna look painful to watch really. The songs that will be appropriate for Em to perform when he's old I can think of are Stan, LY, SFTM, TIC, Deja Vu, T2M, GTC, NA, 25TL, CM, YNO (there are other serious songs I probably don't remember now though)

Eh, not everyone's voice lowers that much if at all as they age, especially not by 50 (maybe by 70)...I've met some downright high-pitched voiced 50 yr olds.

And if it did get lower he could always just go back to the SSLP voice...which at 50 would sound like the TES voice. :8)

sorry I don't wanna see a an old man with wrinkles all over his place and can hardly move trying to be cool & perform funny songs, maybe you don't mind but for me it's painful to watch. Then again when he's that old knowing Em's insecurity I'm sure he gonna be in hiding & lay low for rest of his life, so it's whatever.

Each song on 'The Slim Shady EP/LP' and 'MMLP' will always be classics.

and soon to be:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_z ...Jay signed a big concert deal, he won't be stopping for a long time, if ever.

also, look at big rock bands that were once all about young music and still selling out stadiums:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rolling_Stones
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_DC

and don't forget this young revolutionary musician:

but I can see your point on the jokey singles.

Define "popular." :o
Are you talking about the fan base or the public...?
All the old fans would always like the old shit and all the newfags would be bumping 'Not Afraid' or w/e..
I would have to say that each single from each album has a lot of replay value.

Some clubs around here still play "The Way I Am' and 'Stan.'
Which I find highly disturbing but I guess it would depend on what your opinion is.
'Not Afraid' has received the most mainstream play so far with 'LTWYL' at a close second.

But does it mean they will be popular in 30 years? Unlikely.
If anything, everyone will probably forget all about recovery and even Eminem altogether..
Pretty deep when you think about it in the concept of time...You would have to put into thought the fact we may be androids in 30 years..

Lose Yourself will stay cemented in hip hop forever. No one will ever forget that song. Stan is pretty epic too. Not Afraid might stand the test of time, it's fairly popular. Debuting at number is no small feat

Both actually.

How many Eminem fans really love ALL the songs on those albums? And to be perfectly honest, I'm sure most Em fans haven't even heard SSEP.

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help
