He picked up the accent from the people he was hanging out with. Over the years as he's gotten away from many of those people, the accent has faded.

And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

No, he has changed his voice for EVERY ALBUM. And I almost guarantee we'll get something totally different on his next album. He can still perform his old songs perfectly live. He switches it up on purpose

This. His 2010 freestyles remind me of the old Em, sounds like it voice-wise too. He changes is up on purpose.

Not as much as '99 though.

Yeah, that's because he was still heavily associated with D12 at the time and had just made it. I bet he could get that dialect (if that's what you'd want to call it) back if he wanted, just not the voice pitch. I think the most we can get from him presently is TES-style flow.

Yep, he is.

Noticed this too. In his interviews and stuff he seems more proper and educated than he did 10 years ago.

It would sound stupid for a 37-38 year old to talk like he did back in 99-06. It honestly would

It was better because he was still fairly young. Now he's getting a little bit older, I know 40 isn't THAT old, but I would hope by 40 the man would have grown up a little, and it seems like he has

I agree %100. So why the hell is everyone all about him going back to his old shit? I think his new shit is more mature and overall better because it fits.
