I do, already view 'Recovery' as almost a return to his original form, and if I had to pick one Em album that it most reminds me of...TES.
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Just out of curiosity, how many times approximately have you listened to the whole album?

Damn, I still remember the days when I didn't like Relapse, and after a couple dozen listens the album finally clicked with me and I fucking loved it for what it was. It felt good.

And regarding Recovery, I loved the album since the first listen. Now I'm pretty sure that I have listened to the whole album, ummm, literally a thousand times and it keeps getting better (some songs that I thought were merely good are now classics to me like On Fire and Cinderella Man), which speaks volumes to the quality of the material.

Not talking about the leaks from years ago I mean songs like Romans Revenge, All She Wrote, Echo & INAD. He sounds and raps just like he did on Recovery (and he kills it)
Give Me The Ball is like a mix of pill era & Recovery Em.

I loved both Relapse and Recovery since first listen and the shit I didn't like is pretty much the same (never liked SB or LTYL, now I dislike them even more)

Flow and delivery, I can see that. But in terms of content and themes? The Recovery stuff is like a billion times more compelling than his recent collabs.

Recovery isn't even close to TES.

TES is by far his most coherent album, top to bottom, every track bleeds into the next it's structurally sound and thematically spot-on. Everything gels.

Recovery has some instant-classic songs of its own - "Cold Wind Blows", "Going Through Changes", "Space Bound", "Cinderella Man", "Almost Famous" to name the main ones. Though nearly every track is a solid or brilliant track in its own right.

But, due to the production and subsequent lack of 'direction' or threaded tone, it's nowhere near as coherent and is more like a collection of the best songs Em could do at that time. Where as The Eminem Show is a meticulous, driven album that is truly an ALBUM of work. Not just a collection of songs.

There`s something on TES that makes me hate the overall album.I still give it 7-8/10 cause it has some classics no one can deny.SFTM is in my top 5.But still Recovery overall >>>TES imo.It has much more reply value for me.

I really don't see much of a difference in Recovery and his recent collabs. Besides his Hello Good Morning & Celebrity verses which fucking sucked.

I do see a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference. Most of the recent collabs and leaked stuff are just throwaway verses, or stuff that wasn't supposed to leak in the first place. All of the songs in Recovery in the other hand, had a meaning and a reason to exist. From Cold Wind Blows until Untitled, all of them felt like they helped to create a highly cohesive album.

I wouldn't either, TES is my favorite album of all time. But Recovery is my second personal favorite :D

I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

The "nostalgia" argument is total bullcrap. TES is simply better.

I remember hearing TES for the first time when I was 12 and just being in complete shock. That album got me into eminem and the second after I heard that album I wanted to download every single eminem song ever. This feeling went away in like 08 09 when we werent getting new material. Even when relapse came out I hated it at first. I was like "what happened to the eminem I used to know" (now i like relapse and appriciate it for what it is). When recovery came out....I got that feeling again that I was hooked. I fell in love with the album.

Long story short....PERSONALLY... TES = Recovery
