Well, let's see, if u use more than the 1% of your brain u have left, it kinda is a bit on topic. EM is not getting soft, however, some may feel he is when he puts out videos like lighters. Personally, I feel he's stronger artist because he can put himself and his struggles out there. Just sayin. And I'll apologize now 4 being such a beeeatch. Sorry. But in my eyes this is on topic.

Yeah, he's gotten pretty soft. His language is lighter and content is angellic.

Could be.. In Way I Am (book) he says he regrets how far he went with some of his older stuff. Says that he just wasnt thinking about his daughter getting older and listening to the crazy deranged music that her father made. I think he was talking about the really intense shit like 97 Bonnie and Clyde and Kim tho. Hes toned it down somewhat, but at the level that he was at there really wasnt any place else to go except down

Why analyze every little detail of a concert instead of watching a whole or just listen.
it's like people taking pictures and posting the worst, saying, you cannot find he has grown old or he had botox or I don't know what crap.

It's not a matter of inappropiate lyrics, he's doing it in most of his songs. And yes, it's annoying, it sucks. It ruins a performance a bit sometimes.

I think that's exactly why people think he is going soft. His lyrics are very general now, where they used to be incredibly specific and you can't blame him for it.

Speaking randomly and in general about acts of violence, name calling, and swearing have been a part of hip-hop for 20+ years and it's nothing special or offensive anymore. You can close your eyes and pick a rap CD at random off a shelf at Best Buy, listen to it, and find all of those things 99% of the time.

He just pushed the envelope so far with SSLP and MMLP etc. that everything else seems to be watered down. You can't blame people for thinking he's softened up, it's just they're being peeled off the ceiling and without a background story to put his lyrics to it just seems like he's just stepped down to a lower more generic version of crazy and offensive.

It's obviously still not "child friendly" but definitely
You ain't even impressed no more, You're used to it

I have 2 agree, sayin EM got softer is hilarious. However, I can see two sides 2 every coin, & people are allowed their opinions.

No way...totally disagree. He's a lyricist like no other, & I'll bet most of his work is improvisational. Recovery just is in no way generic, there are tracks with words & beats like no other. Now you've got me wanting 2 listen to both of his newest released albumns. No way will EM eva be generic. He puts himself fully out there. He may be more introspective due to time, however I believe that I'm a fan now, where I can honestly say his vulgar, crude, attitude used 2 throw me off. Now I find his humor very funny.

yes his humor can be sarcastic, oh I really like this word, crude, vulgar ...
but always intelligent, that's what makes him different, everyone cannot do it. :y:

I'm ready and willing to admit many things about Em's shit that have changed in the last few years, but I don't think this is one of them. My friend who went to V told me he did, among other things, Kill You. C'mon son. If he's doing Kill You at a show which all the faggots who have just turned old enough to occasionally be served for beer despite being underage (no offense to my friend he aint one of them :p ) then he can't really be going that soft.
