It's just a pitch corrector, however the vocoder/shaky robot effect is what everyone calls auto tune now.

I remember a few years ago Alice Cooper had a song where the intro had a vocoder effect (and it sounded cool) and he got really pissed off because a bunch of music writers thought he was using autotune. It was funny.

If you compare the two different versions of Kim it was quite obvious that the album released used auto-tune on the hook (unless of course Eminem re-recorded his vocals).

The likelihood is that Eminem may use some level of auto-tuning when tweaking his songs, however he does not use it to purposefully change the way his vocals sound.

Kinda. Autotune is a pitch corrector program, not a vocoder, that was made infamous by T-Pain, Kanye and such. They used it to extreme measures like the quick, obnoxious pitch changes that you've heard on their tracks. There are a bunch of pitch corrector in the market, and I dont doubt for a second that they use pitch correction for Eminem's singing. It's not a big deal because he's not a singer, he's a rapper. I'd be more ashamed of singers using this; which some have been known to do.

Regardless of your position on auto tune, it is industry standard and you will not hear a single song on the radio that does not use some sort of pitch correction, if you are anti-"auto tune" or pitch correction, you have been falsely misguided by hip hop media's portrayal of it, which usually only discusses people who use it to an extreme extent i.e Future

All his new recordings other than his verse on Our House are heavily layered so there is no way he can sound exact like what the recording sounds like live without help.
