get it? @Embase :coffee:

Hm?

Well, wrote a joke then forgot it. Fuck it. It was just fun to see the atheists reaction in this thread.

Oh, Eminem has ALWAYS been religious (like Base pointed out) and i dont see ANY signs of any increased worship on his part. Media just trying to sensationalize everything and even Cee-lo falling for it.

People use the word 'religious' to refer to people who are actively involved in going to church and attempting to follow behavioral conduct from priests... but that's just how much you're involved, that's not what 'religious' means. If you believe in a god; you are, end of.
Not to mention the fact he said he prays a lot more.
Anybody who prays is DEFINITELY religious, praying is a superstitious tradition attached to all major religions. And as for him being the opposite of religious Catholics... yeah I guess so, as he only pretends to rape and molest.

It's probably the cultural difference thing but I thought religious is a term used amongst believers & that exactly separates them from one another as some of them believe but do not follow the religion rules closely. For example I always believed in God & followed a lot of the rules but a lotta people who follow those rules closely rule me out as religious 'cuz of that. I mean I've heard a lotta believers asking each other if they are religious or not. Again... it's probably the cultural difference or the language. Like... you can be a believer but not a really religious one... Right?

Well the word religious and to be religious means to believe in a single divine creator.

That's the definition so, if you believe in a god, you are religious.

But people have adopted it to be somewhat descriptive of how dedicated a person is to their religious beliefs in particular but, it just means believe in a god.

I get the literal meaning but in my religion & by my standards just believing in God does not make you religious but just a believer. Again... I get the point & the literal meaning though.
I now got the point of your initial post about it too... I thought you meant it sucks Em was a lot into religion by saying religious & that's why I said I don't think he's religious but you've actually meant it sucks he believes in God period. I just got it.
In my opinion it's great Em believes in God but it'd suck indeed if he starts rapping about Christianity or acted like he's a lot into it 'cuz it'd kinda come off considering his shock value lyrics & all that & the overall contradiction.

Does that mean if I believe in science I am an Atheist?

I do believe in God but I do believe in science as well... I don't think that would make us Atheists on daily basis but probably it wouldn't look good for the really religious people as religion & science often contradict themselves.

I don't really see what the big deal is either, lol.

Nah, it's not actually... we only discussed in details 'cuz I didn't initially get what Base meant.

Buddhism is a religion and they don't believe in a creator.

Also, it does matter. If he starts going on about Jesus and God then it is going to ruin EVERYTHING.

Haha.

True that.

I don't actually care if he personally believes in a god or not, I just don't want it affecting his art.

Wouldnt mind a Jesus Walks. Love that record. Even Game with See No Evil and some choice cuts on Jesus Piece was fun. Kendrick incorporated God references in GKMC to good effect. Lecrae is the first christian rapper to be taken seriously. My Darling was basically an "I'm no a christian!!" song. It is not about being Christian or saying Christian songs, its about execution and doing something that doesnt feel contrived and preachy.
