Yes. It feels forced to me. He has been trying to recapture the magic since his comeback. Relapse had a lot of references to his early albums, and he would he say so in the interviews. Then, for Recovery, he says that he went back to the old records to find what made them meaningful.
It's almost like Relapse he was trying to get back to SSLP/MMLP, and with Recovery, he was trying to get back to TES/8 Mile. Perhaps now he's revisiting his old material in the proper manner for MMLP. IMO, it's always forced when an artist tries to go back, and Relapse and Recovery were obviously forced.
Not that I mind it, I enjoy what he creates. But it would be nice to see him move forward instead of trying to rehash. I think Eminem never really knew who he was as an artists.
