Damn. I really hope they will go in with the promotion in October. :flutter:

Interviews + tracklist + cypher maybe? + maybe a freestyle at an interview or smth + Survival video + another song/single one week before the release (as always)

= They're good man.

Just after this Drake buzz has gone down it'll all come through :wub:

Going #3 today isn't like going #3 back in the day. Real Slim Shady was HUGE, and still only went to #4. Berzerk isn't even that big of a song, and it went higher.

Different times.

So you said it. Different times. Berzerk will go platinum in 2 weeks at most, and you know that is not radiophonic AT ALL. Is going pretty well on digital sales for a song that sound nothing that we ever heard from Em.

@4corners

Why isn't Berzerk performing at the charts? Berzerk isn't as POP-oriented as Not Afraid and LTWYL, and at the same it, it isn't supported by urban radio stations at all. This is why the airplay is already decreasing, and why it has yet to enter the Top40.

@Notalius

The reason Em had no #1 hits in the US - except Lose Yourself - back in the day, is very much due to the fact that at the time, there was no digital market, and the physical singles market was practically dead -- which consequently meant that airplay was the one determining factor of Hot100. Eminem's singles performed much better in the UK. Why? Because their singles chart was and still is soley based on sales.

I'm saying back in the day, Berzerk may have hit Top 20. It seems easier to chart higher with singles today, but harder to sell albums.

You guys are setting yourselves up for disappointment as far as record sales go.

Hits Daily Double is usually pretty accurate. They do tend to predict slightly lower I guess for good measure. Aside from the Beats commercial and Saturday Night Football there's been no promo yet Berzerk is still in the Itunes Top 10 (it moved up one spot to #8). Imagine when he starts doing promo and the COD tie-in kicks in. He's going to do big business regardless.

I only care about sales because I like how he's still really the most relevant rapper out there.

Relevance and pop are mutually exclusive, and when they fit it is coincidental.

One Direction are only relevant because they appeal to little girls. Eminem has a long established career which is propped up by racial hardships and further assisted through past controversies and more recent tracks which further penetrated the pop sphere to appeal to pop music listeners.

The key here is that the music stops becoming relevant: its irrelevance offers a superficial promise of enjoyment. There are tons of people who will buy an Eminem purely because it has become routine.

Compare this to Yeezus: an album which IS relevant in the musical sphere (and if you disagree please watch Kanye's Zane Lowe interview). It is quiet clear that we as a pop demographic are not interested in topics which are relevant to discuss. This is why Miley Cyrus news sells more than Syria.

Eminem has not been relevant since Encore. Sales show that an artist is popular, yes, but only relevant to a vast majority of people who indulge in the pop scene.

I don't care about sales. Born Sinner outsold Yeezus, but the former album was an artist wank stain. It was boring as fuck. There was no creativity: just an aura of a regurgitated rap album from a past generation. It wasn't relevant.

If Eminem made an album with no raio friendly tracks he would be deemed irrelevant due to poor album sales. Let the music talk.
"Oh, he'll give us what we need.
It may not be what we want."
