I think anything above 600000 is good.
But this time I’m worrying about lingevity more. Recovery has great longevity commercially speaking and chartwise, it will reach 4.5milliom by the end of this year.

OP also thinks Rap God is trash so his opinion is not valid eitherway.

Yeah the album might sell more on its first week but idk about longevity. However.. If they release Headlights as a single it might sell a lot too.

Em won over the teenagers ( new fans ) and his Facebook page exploded. It might have been a bit corny and sellout, but it worked. Recovery was the best selling album of 2010.

I am hyped about MMLP2 but the singles aren't doing nearly as good as the Recovery ones did.
The songs are better, but 800 k-- 1mil isn't realistic. He will match Recovery, tops.
Come guys, this is 2013, platinum in the first week, nawh, even though It would be cool.

If we are talking about first week sales, I don't see how MMLP2 can't do better than Recovery. The only song that was out before Recovery came out was Not Afraid (well, WBD it wasn't received well) and now we have three songs plus two videos. There is a CoD promotion as well. Soon, there will be live performances and interviews and The Monster is coming tomorrow, which is a potential massive hit. Plus, all the fans Em made with Recovery are still here, the Recovery buzz is not gone. In addition, Eminem is blonde again and the album is named MMLP2. Not to mention that Recovery leaked 2 weeks early. And given the fact that Relapse first week numbers were close to Recovery's, I'd say MMLP2 doing more than 700K is guaranteed. IMO, It will reach 1 mill.

If you look at it that way, yeah. :flutter:

But I think He was supposed to do more interviews by now. It is the end of October.
The ESPN one was great, now we will get some live performances.
Wich is awesome, considering where He will be performing.

I don't worry about longevity because Monster is going to be a smash hit ( Rihanna obviously ) and Em will probably release Headlights a little later, ( like He did with Stan ) and that will boost his sales even more.
Plus the buzz created of talking about it, especially if its going to be really good, like Rap God.

Still OVER a mil, not happening. :)

The sinlges have done better than Relapse ones but not as good as Recovery singles did.

I expect somewhere between 650-700K.

It will sell at least 750k. More likely 900-1mill.

I know, that's why I said close, maybe I should've said relatively close... 133k difference is not that much for Em's numbers.

It might not break sales records, but it is going to do very well. Btw, Rap God *was* the "knockout punch" you were referring to in the OP. Just because you didn't personally enjoy it doesn't mean it didn't resonate with the bulk of his fan base and set the game on fire when it dropped. That shit was trending on twitter for like 5 days, wasn't even considered an official single and charted better on itunes than Berzerk and Survival, and was even responsible for reigniting Berzerk and Survival as they started climbing up the charts after Rap God dropped.

On Monday he will drop The Monster which will no doubt be a smash hit.

Not to mention he's pretty much the highest selling artist of the year any year he drops.

It might not be the commercial juggernaut Recovery was, but that's because it'll be less commercial friendly. Not because he lost relevancy.

After being away solo wise for 3 years, and naming the album MMLP 2, I think 750-800k is a realistic estimate.

The label wouldn't ship 1.1 million copies first week if they didn't have data supporting a big release.

Not sure why my post disappeared but here goes again..

It's so annoying to see tons of people with no clue about sales make these stupid ass summaries and predictions.

550k first week? Em has never sold below 610k in his first full week except SSLP. He doesn't need hit singles to shift albums. Add in that sales are always higher in the latter months of the year and you have a minimum of 700-750k in the pocket just like his label predicts. History also shows that Em typically outsells predictions so we might even be looking at 800-900k and depending on what 'The Monster' does, maybe even more.

A lot of people think that The Monster will not affect his sales much because Rihanna isn't an album seller but they're looking at it the wrong way. Em is using Rihanna as a way to reach out to the public by getting airplay. He isn't aiming for her fanbase but his own. Em has a lot of "dorment" fans that are hard to reach with singles such as Berzerk and Rap God. It's also one of the reasons his first week sales nowadays aren't as high but his longevity more than makes up for it.

He's also gained a lot of new fans since Recovery. As much as some online gatherings like to hate Recovery, it was pretty well received in the mainstream. There's also the CoD tie-in, which I suspect will result in at least 50k additional sales.
