I'll bet on MMLP2 beating SSLP.

Naw....no way. Slim Shady LP didn't have shit like Survival and The Monster, no way.

Unless literally every other song is amazing, including the bonus tracks, there's no possible way this album could touch his first 3 real albums.

Correct opinion here.

^ My opinion is that both your opinions suck balls.
Loved 3 of the 4 songs out so far, I don't think Monster is terrible, it just wasn't what I was expecting.
Tier 2, I see this being better than Relapse.

It won't be that good. Maybe Relapse or Recovery level.

Go listen to SSLP start to finish and then tell me you still think MMLP2 is likely to top it.

I'm not saying it can't, I'm just saying that on the evidence at hand it's extremely unlikely. But fuck I hope it does. The amount of 5.5-6 minute tracks is definitely a good sign.

I'll put Berzerk and Rap God in my top 40 favorite Em songs of all time.
Survival would be in my top 100.
Based on that and the fact that SSLP did have My Fault, which I think is amusing but pointless, I think MMLP II has a chance to top it. Depends on how the rest of the album turns out.
Fingers crossed.

I'm not convinced. Above Encore but below Relapse seems reasonable.
Norway, blah, blah, murder, blah, blah, blood.

As for Relapse, I think it's a very good album, but it has flaws in it whichever makes me not see it as one of his best. The ever-present Chinese accent is one of them.

Starting to like The Monster a lot more with each consecutive listen now that the rage has died. It's well made for what it is, a top 10 radio track, and I'm enjoying it more than I did LTWYL at this point. So yeah, it's like Rap God is fucking amazing, Berzerk is a fun track, Survival I have my gripes with but I still enjoy listening to, and The Monster is pretty good as well. With all the other tracks we have yet to hear, this has the potential to rise above Relapse, but not farther imo (it's already above Recovery in my eyes).

The accent is what elevated the album.

And if we're being real, it's his best "musical" album, almost as cinematic as TES was.
Listen to the album again and again you'll find out why it's praised by so many "stans".

But yes, it has its flaws. I don't think it's a classic, since it had weak songs.

Ironically, in the summer of 2011 I listened to the Relapse album literally 100 times, so maybe I'm jaded. I sure loved it, but I was certainly looking at it with love-gazing eyes rather than objectively, now that I'm less obsessive about it.

They're just taking advantage of the people who thought The Monster sucked in intention to make others feel bad about the song, too.
