Hell no.

The album is awesome. This is better than expected. This was the best album I thought Eminem could make at this stage. He obviously put a bunch of work into this project and it paid off.

I kinda think this could be the end for Em. We got blonde Eminem back, a sequel to his greatest masterpiece, and an awesome album that gives that old-school vibe Eminem got away from with Recovery. He blessed us with this piece of art, and now I think he's done. There's nowhere else for him to really go from here. Who knows.

No way. This is a great album, a true masterpiece, but doesn't top the first MMLP. But... I can see this one as the MMLP of these times.

I accidentally voted "Yes".

Fuck. Sorry guys.

Anyways, I'm with the majority. I'm quite literally at a loss of words when I challenge myself to elaborate on everything I feel in response to this album. I do believe that it is likely equally impressive for him to have created this album here in 2013 after everything he's already done and said when placed beside how impressive the original MMLP was back in the day.

MMLP1 is is best album... but it LITERALLY IS UNTOUCHABLE for Eminem at this point in the present... without that same buzz around him and having already said everything he's said. There is simply nothing, NOTHING he could have released that would have topped it. MMLP2 is so close to an absolutely PERFECT attempt to come as close as possible to it, however, that I'm in just as much awe in response to listening to MMLP2 as I am when I re-imagine listening to MMLP for the first time.

I'll bet this one was harder to pull off and that is saying a LOT. This album is legendary. I've put a LOT of thought into Eminem's work in my life and I know the images we create in our minds of things like this can be a bit distorted and hazy when the emotions that coincide with the initial release/leak are also in our minds potentially altering our senses of logic... but looking past that to the best of my ability and keeping the fact that this can happen in consideration... I'm thinking that this album truly IS better than The Slim Shady LP AND The Eminem Show.

If anyone disagrees, fair enough. I expect a lot of people to disagree. You have to take into consideration that each of his first 3 albums were released at a time in which Eminem's introductory presence actually shook the world. The songs on them were more than the music and the skill of the writing. In the minds of almost every hardcore Eminem fan each of these CD's are remembered as more than what the songs were... but the effect Eminem had on the world. They were an experience. The whole world around us was affected by the presence of his music. Pop culture, society and the world around us all basically received a nuclear bomb and when we re-paint the picture of those times in our minds and compare anything he puts out now to anything from that time period, REGARDLESS of quality of skill in his songs/writing... it is going to seem like it isn't the same.

Unfortunately, there is LITERALLY NO POSSIBLE WAY he can re-capture all of those elements that exist alongside JUST the music itself when speaking of the elite trio from the beginning of his career. Not at this age and at this point in his career.

I think that will make sense to a lot of the people here but they may not have really considered it when placing this album in contrast to any of those three.

With all of this being said... I... I... genuinely... I genuinely believe that this album is better than The Slim Shady LP AND The Eminem Show.

I don't expect everyone, or even a much of a minority to agree. Again, there is probably nothing that will ever stack up with the significance that any of those three albums had on your lives or your collective, overall visions of Eminem's career. I'm just saying I think it would have been a LOT easier to make The Eminem Show or The Slim Shady LP (and they are two of my favorite albums in existence... just incredible) than it would have been to make MMLP2 considering the era in which all albums spoken of were released.

No. This is Ems Stillmatic. It simply built upon the original and had that vibe.

Fuck it, y'all can hate all you want. I like the MMLP2 better than the MMLP. Yes, the MMLP is more cohesive. But the emotion, hard work, and lyricism on this album elevate it to being a better album imo. I honestly cannot name a single track that is comparable to Headlights, or Bad Guy on the original. Evil Twin is better than criminal imo. This won't be a earth shattering as the original, but that's out of his control.

IMO:
TES: 10
MMLP2: 9.9
MMLP: 9.8
SSLP: 9
Relapse: 6.5
Recovery: 6
Encore: 3

Infinite: not rankable imo
I walk around like a space cadet, place your bets
Who's likely to become a serial killer? Case of tourettes
Fuck, fuck, fuck! Can't take the stress
I make a mess as the day progresses
Angry and take it out on the neighbors hedges like this is how I'll cut
Your face up bitches with these hedge trimming scissors with razor edges
Imagination's dangerous, it's the only way to escape this mess
And make the best of this situation, I guess
