No because Em didn't invite me.

And with Em...

Everyone put down Relapse when it came out, they proceed to put it down before Recovery came out, and continued putting it down sometime after Recovery was released. Somewhere in the long 3-year wait (not the start and not the beginning) is when people starting putting Relapse on a pedestal and really giving Recovery down the road.

imo, it was just the production. When Recovery came out everyone loved it more than Relapse. It was real, it was Eminem. Before you completely take that out of context, I mean people were glad to have Em back actually sounding like Eminem and not in a creepy accented voice talking about killing people. At some point after Recovery came out people started enjoying that, though. And I think the sucky production of Recovery just started glaring to everyone.

Well I don't see it that way. Not everyone put down Relapse when it came it, nor did everyone love Recovery more than Relapse at its initial release (though I do understand what you're saying about "it was Eminem" rather than "a creepy accented voice talking about killing people." It was refreshing to hear him sound like a man again, lmao). I recall many people loving Relapse when it leaked on TR, and I can see the very same people enjoying it today. There has never been a complete consensus. I've seen all over TR and KTT (the only boards I frequent so I can't claim anything about other boards) and I've seen members on TR and KTT say Relapse > Recovery, or Recovery > Relapse. There's always a half and half, or just people who think Eminem's discography would be better off if he retired in 2003. I've seen more often than not "I like Relapse and Recovery" sentiments online. So what I'm saying is that I don't think there's enough of a consensus to say there's ever been a huge switch up in which ever album is better.

About the cycle, I'm saying it doesn't apply. If anything, it did happen with Relapse and Recovery, but that doesn't mean in 3 years everyone is going to say, "Wow, Recovery was immense. Why did Eminem have to adopt a smoother delivery, a sharper wit, a better ear for beats, and clever schemes for that garbage MMLP2? We want more uncredited hooks and screaming! Down with MMLP2!"

There are still shit beats on MMLP2, plus a new found love of Puff Daddy style samples where you basically lay your own vocals on top of another persons song and chorus.

People tend to treat music like they just got fucked by the hottest girl, then right after they blow a load they think they want to marry this girl, tell her they love her. But then a few months later this girl annoys the living shit out of you because she was completely superficially hot.

This might happen, but most of you all won't admit it will.

Relapse got hate from mainstream dick bobbers TBH.. If you can analyze the lyrics and shit Relapse is dope at least to that extent.

Recovery doesn't have "modern beats" it has SHIT BEATS.. Independent artists with 100k budgets get better beats..

MMLP2 & Relapse will remain loved over Recovery.. If anything maybe some of you on Recovery's dick will wise up to how bad it's production is given you have an album before and after it that is far superior lyrically and production wise.. Content & delivery is as always debatable..

No.

Because Relapse was dope from day one, and it's still dope now.

Recovery was solid but highly flawed from day one. As it is now.

MMLP2 doesn't highlight any great aspects about Recovery in retrospect... it highlights the worst ones - it just re-livens the obviousness of the punchlines, the terrible writing and the abysmal production. It makes it all sound even worse than before MMLP2.

There are no major writing or production flaws on MMLP2; the MMLP2 production is crisp and musical, creative and strange (for an Eminem album at least).

It also just serves to highlight how solid Relapse is. Relapse doesn't look shit in comparison still, at least not to me. Where as Recovery does.

That's not true. I think it's an overall average album, and I'm far from what you would call a "mainstream dick bobber".
