Yela getting exec'd by Em and Rubin...
Shit feels like a dope era right now.
I hope Rubin becomes Em's new Dre - Em's initial brilliance with Dre was dope af but seems like they've worked together too long to feel truly fresh now...
Where as Em + Rubin = "Rhyme or Reason" and "Berzerk", both of which are Em's true first steps in to truly experimental musical territories (Relapse was unique, and Recovery was different for Em... but both still like basic hip-hop music) - I hope Em makes like two more. With Rubin.
I'll agree with all of this. I think Rubin will get the best out of Em for the remainder of his career.
But do you mean two more songs, or albums? lol
Two more albums yo.
"Rhyme or Reason" is the first real indicator (everybody knows I love Relapse but it was just a very unique rap style... not necessarily some huge musical departure feel) to me since... TES of like a truly new sound for EM...
Not that i mean he should do more like that track, but just that... I've never heard him over a track like that, and it really sounds like he could have a whole new slew of sounds with Rubin coming through with creative samples and fresh rock sounds...
That kind of 'chill rock' especially, Em sounds really good over, and it feels new. Normally Em goes for adrenaline or harsh rock... that shit is cooooler, funkier...
So yeah, I'd like him and Rubin to butt heads for like two more projects. Feels like they're just getting started. Just beginning to tap in to new potential within Em.
I wanna see what he sounds like with other shit - because Kanye for example, fucks with a new genre every album... but other than rock influence... Em keeps it hip-hop. So it's just interesting to think how he could sound over various things now.
