GOAT OP. Lyrically, in a complexity sense, he's untouchable.. But something about it seems soulless at times.. Where front to back TES you could feel his emotion behind every word. It's a great album compared to the rest of the rap game.. But Eminem can't compete with his former self.. And TBH that's his fucking fault for naming it after his most revered album.

I love how passive-aggressive you get when people don't agree with you, it's cute.

I can agree with that.. But as a human it's impossible to read out "The Marshall Mathers LP.....2" without my brain racing through the first press.

But, once I heard it I would still break down what I like/don't like. From a sonic sense, I really do think he did a great job while keeping his hyper-super-tyrant-lyrical acrobat stunts in tact.. Without an accent or screaming (for the most part) so I appreciate this album. It's a nice breath of fresh air.
Regardless of the negatives I talk about it's still a easy 8/10 for me.

He has much more personality on this than anything he's done since TES. So Far might be the most personal song he's ever done. People who have really followed Eminem and gotten a feel for his personality understand just how honest a look this is at his life.

Will MMLP2 alienate his Recovery era fans?

Anyone who doesn't think this is AT LEAST tied for his second best album is wrong.
CALLED IT!

Recovery + MMLP2 = for his fans who have aged with him

SSLP, MMLP, and TES will always be there for the kids (and the adults who really understand Slim Shady)

Relapse and Encore... well they're both good

Eh...wouldn't his first three be for the ones who aged with him?

I meant to imply that by "the adults who really understand Shady"

Should've been clearer!

When the critics are actually praising something Em does.......you know he did well, he never gets love from critics.

Anyways, it's undeniably his best since Eminem Show.

It has the raw records like Brainless, Groundhog Day. Classic shady shit like So Much Better, Baby, Evil Twin. Concepts and emotional tracks like Bad Guy, Legacy, Headlights, Beautiful Pain. Experimental and artistic risks, as well as funny tracks like So Far, Love Game, Rhyme or Reason. Songs where he's just spittin and droppin bars like Asshole, Rap God.

It has every factor of an Eminem album. Is it a classic.......not by a long shot, but it's a very good album. It's every bit as good as Life Is Good and Untitled by Nas, better than American Gangster by Jay, and his best since Eminem Show.

The few bad lines here and there don't take away the overall enjoyment of the tracks, like Relapse accents did, and Recovery's horrible production did on certain tracks. And his flows on certain tracks are undeniable.

No one can rap like Em, and this project show cases his ability to rap over just about anything.
