Serious? Have you ever been to any show ever? It's not up to Eminem how long you wait. If you want to be at the front row for any major artist/band, you're going to have to wait. It's in no way vein or shitty

Quick questions for anybody who's been to see Em live, and especially if you went to Melbourne:

1. Is it hard to get right at the front? As in, even if you get there on-time. That actually sounds retarded now I type it out, ''on time'', as if there won't be a cock load of people hella early for that.

But, I heard there's n1kkas camping outside n shit just for it which makes me think getting right down or even semi-front will be pretty hard unless you rise to that level of obsession? Which I ain't, wit ma girl.

2. Do you really have to wait like FIVE hours for Em to come on? That seems absolutely insane. That's like 2 lord of the rings movies back to back in length just WAITING for him. I understand they apparently do that to get people so sick of waiting and exhausted that to even see him results in like ecstatic relief / ups the reaction.

That's a pretty vein and shitty thing for Em to do, to make people wait five fucking hours.

--

Finally, is it worth even standing for that long / is the view worth it? Or do you think it'd be better to swap wit somebody wit seats, and how do seats compare?

It isn't hard if you are there 10-12 hours before the show starts. There are people literally camping the front of the stage, atleast at Pukkelpop where I saw him last summer. Me and my friends where there 8 hours before the show and got decent spots about 50 meters from the stage. We where EXHAUSTED at the show but it was totally fucking worth it. Being so close to your idol and someone you have listened to for years is a feeling un-describeable.

Edit: We also took turns for bathroom, beer, food etc while the others held our spots.

I got there well before the gate opened and it was a huge line already. Like 100 people in front of me.

So I got in around 11am and stood around until like 7pm when Em came on.

Yes it was worth it.

I saw Em at Paris, at Stade de France. And I was there, 36 hours before the show. But it was so cool because we were a lot of fans!
But the best for me, it was at Le Grand Journal, I saw Em very closely, and he touched my hand! So crazy

Been three times at festivals. Each time I was in the first 5 rows from the front but each time was a mental and physical marathon.

Stood up from 12 noon until about 1130pm without a drink or anything to eat so I didn't have to leave my spot.

The worst part is all the drunk dickheads that swell into the front area with about an hour to go so that it's even a battle to remain upright. It's torturous.

But surely it's worth the physical battle to see the Rap God perform feet away.

But it is up to Em and his team, because this is not some festival... this is an Eminem tour put on by Eminem's people. So they decide the time he comes on, who's before him, how long people wait.

So Em and his team have decided to make people wait 5 hours from when they get there to see him.

People have paid / bought tickets to see Eminem, not some random festival with Em performing.

So yeah that is shitty.

Why not just open the gates to the stage and seating like an hour before though and have an hour warm up. Why make people stand for 5 hours, that's fucking brutal.

if it really is over 5 hours before the main event you'll want to do everything you can to get up front, and if you can't do that then maybe somewhere on the sides because you'll want something to lean/sit on otherwise around the 4 hour mark your muscles are going to start aching from just standing there idle in one little spot for so long, even your spine's going to hurt. and the next morning will be even worse. oh and if you're planning on tripping don't that's a fucking horrible idea.

It's going to be my first show as well here in South Africa. But my question is... If you get there so earlier (which I want to do), and you need to go to the bathroom, what do you do? The people well get pissed off If you leave and come back? Sorry for the crap question, but I need to know... lol

I just came back from... well, actually a few hours ago now. But, I went to see Em.

At first it was absurdly weird. He looked kinda surreal as I guessed he would, I had to keep saying to myself ''oh yeah, you are a human!?", but I wasn't too confident in that analysis.

I actually got there (wit ma lady) like an hour bevfore Em came on and ye we still mamaged to be at the front, and I could see him within throwing distance. Was muchos weird.

Full EmBase review of Mel. concert coming soon.
