Just some speculation:

Eminem wants to get back into battling and prove that he's still as dope as the underground guys...so he's hosting a bunch of battles to get a feel for the atmosphere in modern battling and get a feel for how everything works. He doesn't want to just jump into it without thinking it through and embarrass himself like Canibus.

Then, after he's done hosting all this shit, he'll do one battle.

I think if he "studies" modern day battling he will be able to compete with some and actually win.

Who says he doesn't study it already? He's always talking about how he "studies the game" and tries to keep his finger on the pulse. He has more free time nowadays than 90% of people on the planet.

He's already seen Dizaster vs. Canibus.

Maybe this entire thing is his way of slowly making the transition over into battle rap for a while?

The one issue with Eminem getting into battling is it would require he use the internet...and that seems to be in conflict with his moral center.

Maybe he can hire someone to download all the YT uploads of his opponent before each battle, though.

If Eminem's worried about his reputation taking a hit if he loses, he should battle Dizaster. After all, idiots think Canibus is a "dope emcee," and he got demolished against Dizaster. If Eminem were to lose to Dizaster (while obviously making a MUCH better showing, because Eminem is infinitely better in every facet of rap and life than Canibus), people would just go, "wow, Dizaster is dope. He beat both super-doooope, ill battle rapping legend Canibus, and then he beat Eminem, who might be the GOAT rapper. Dizaster is the GOAT."

Of course, then the terrorist douchebag's ego would probably split the universe in half, but Eminem's legacy would be secure.

Em already stated he could never compete, which is true. Em isn't a punchline rapper, and he wouldn't take the effort to search for personals. Everyone would have amazing personals on him, he'd get murdered.
But bizarre and Royce show him battles all the time.

And anyone who believe he doesn't use the internet is pretty gullable.

Even if Dizaster was better than Eminem, Eminem would win the battle if it was judged as long as he didn't choke.

Eminem would get more crowd reaction for obvious reasons, and getting crowd reaction means you're winning the battle according to stupid battle rap fans and battle rap judges.
