meinem wrote:i think you have misunderstood what im trying to say,i wasnt saying that being a true fan you had to love every single one of his tracks i was trying to make a point of how one minute peeps are saying how great a track is then in the next bre4ath they are slagging it.

there are some tracks he has done that i dont think are as good as others but i dont slag them off or critisize them because of that as i dont think anyone in this forum could match his skills and success so therefore in my opinion shouldnt critisize, having an opinion and critisizing to me are completely different.

not liking every track or worshipping him isnt what being a true fan is all about its about not just his music but about him as an artist and a person.

i just think that a lot of peeps seem a little 2 faced by the way they say one thing then change to the opposite point of view thats all.i was never trying to say you was not a true fan so sorry if thats how it came accross

no i didn't misunderstand u, u just stated again above that if ur a fan ur not supposed to criticise Em and that's nonsense - why should u be obliged to stay quiet just cause ur a fan, of course u should criticise (constructively, that is, which is very different from hating) if an artist releases music that doesn't live up to his standards

we all know what Em is capable of and we want more of that, and there's tons of ppl here with a huge knowledge about rap music who are competent to judge whether a track is good or not, although they may not have the same creative standards and skills as Em

u said in ur previous post that ppl shouldn't be dogging on songs like fack cause they aren't serious songs, but being serious or not has nothing to do with why we (or I) criticise it, it's cause the song's below Em's standard lyrically n otherwise - that's not even mildly equivalent to picking holes in everything he does, it's criticising certain songs for not living up to his potential as a rapper and writer

and as for the "two facedness" i just don't get why u post it as a response to posts in this thread - nobody who's posted in this thread so far have made any "two faced" remarks slating a song we've said we loved somewhere else

Ima Ignore just about everything yall said before me....

Everybody's doing the same thing in rap everybody's either a pimp, a thug, selling drugs, or constantly telling us about their "grills" or how big their car rims are. Even everybody's videos look the same. If you watched most of these videos on MTV or BET with the mute button you'd think they're all the same video...so yes i enjoy when eminem comes out with sh!t i can relate 2 or just random stories about his family cause its more interesting then thugs(pussys) or losers braggin....

i'd rather have Em rap about his family and his personal problems, than rap about "big screen tvs, blunts, 40s, and bitches" or make up some rap song about a dance.

i agree with Sher!. Let Em do his thing.

but wen em raps bout his family... its probly the only time wen his fans or other people can hear how he feels about him family right from his mouth... so its a reliable source lol rather than hearin it from magazines or newspapers or wteva

and like someone sed, em lets out his emotions on his tracks and rappin bout his family is a hard thing for him to do, like wit all those songs bout hailie eg hailie's song, mockingbird... he's said that he's had tears in his eyes after recordin those

I don't know why the most of you guys always bitching about shit like this...

I can understand why some of you doesn't like those club-bangers... But about the family-songs... Just ignore the lyrics for awhile and just enjoy the songs.

I think he should rap more about his personal life than just make shit up!! Althought I think it's kewl too.... but he's been through some fucked up shit his whole life, so I think if he puts that shit in his rhymes, they'll look tight!! So answerin' the question, I like it when he raps about his family and all!

i'm not an emcee but i can say rap is about keepin' it real. i've noticed the rawest make the best music. i agree eminem's most personal songs were dope as hell but you can't deny he's always honest, whether you or anyone else think the content is sub-par or not.

there's a good Nas interview in Jan/Feb issue of XXL where he articulates what hip-hop is to him and why he thinks it's dead that gave me new insight. i'll see if i can scan it (if anyone's interested... and aside from 'illmatic' i'm not a Nas fan =p)

i dont mind ,its just how he releases them....Cause like mocking bird was the last single off encore (i think at least) then when curtain call comes out the next year his single is when im gone which is another song about his family but he usually does his best on these type of songs cause theres always things for him to say on that topic since they're a huge part of his life. i'd rather litsen to that then his newer stuff like smack that at least he has something to say in his family songs.

I don't really care if it's like every so often on a CD or something. But after I hear him say "Kim" or any word that relates to her a million times, I get kind of sick. But I don't think I can get sick of Mockingbird or a song about Hailie for some reason.
