What was so bad about Encore?

I am new to this forum so i wasn't around when it came out, but everyone seems to be sayin it was a bad album. People also diss Rain Man which i thought was mint. Ok i hate ass like that but it had some quality tracks. Still cannot choose between MMLP and TES for my favourite album though.. what was up with encore?!?

I think it was that he changed his style in a little more "mainstream" direction.

He adviously didn't have such inspiration as he had when he made slim shady lp or marshall mathers lp, but it was an overall 7/10 album.

Not his best, but it was ok.

Nothing was technically "wrong" with Encore.

There were actually a lot of things wrong with Encore.

The voice, the flow, the beats, the content...

Nothing's bad about Encore. It's just a different sound we're not used to. (And probably don't like as much.) It's overall standards dropped slightly and the number of "Wow, this is really good." tracks dropped considerably. You got to listen to them several times to actually start liking them. Peace.
