Seriously, this album generally praised amongst both fans and critics. To say that Don't Front song (which we haven't even heard all of yet) is what would've "saved" the album is just an attention seeking post. Most of the songs on MMLP2 range from very good to great.

Fuck, I want to see Eminem do an old school album so badly. This sounds so awesome.

He needs to rap over some DJ Premier and Jay Dee beats.

Yeah... kinda makes me wish MMLP2 was all an old school homage...

Because it's kind of weird how there's modern rap-rock... old scratches... a trance beat... it kind of works as an ecclectic mix but it's also like they couldn't truly decide which direction to go in so just kind of did a bit of everything.

But an entire old school hip-hop homage / sounding album for MMLP2 would have made so much sense, because he would by definition be creating nostalgia for the listener, just with the sounds / production right off the bat, so that would immediately put you in a state of 'think back to... ' then he could slip in all the references etc.

And just as a metaphor - that sound for the sequel / nostalgia... makes so much sense.

Not if the raps and concepts were thrilling.

It would just give the album a total musical / sound backbone.

Also, I mean take the foundation and retro aspects of the sound but broaden them and make the beats bigger, funkier, fresher - so it would have the DNA of an old-shcool sound but not literally just be exact old-school beats like "Don't Front", it would be a re-imagined version of that sound.

That's what MMLP1 has - a singular musical backbone... which deviates now n then but it's pretty much that g-funk, bouncy hardcore rap sound, with Em as the exact same character on every track - this sounds, on paper, like it would be boring, but - does MMLP1 get boring?
