I mean it might have something to do with that but I think it was just planned to balance out Survival & they didn't even expect it'll pick up commercially too. They most likely wanted it go along with Em's first 2 singles & at the same time to cool off that too much pop on the album talk. It blew up like crazy & they reacted fast though... I mean this is just my theory of course.
I don't believe there's much of a connection, just a cool coincidence.
