Am I the only one who find leaks annoying?

The recent leaks just show how greedy and close-minded people are.

Funny how this Koloo idiot says on his Twitter that Encore only made it easier for him to leak Topless. If it wasn't for assholes such as himself, Encore wouldn't be that bad (and this is not meant to be discussion about that album). Same thing happened to Nas' I am; the album was going to be another classic from him untill people leaked some of the best stuff from the album months before release (tracks later ended up on The Lost Tapes). In both cases the leaked tracks got replaced with stuff that wasn't half as good.

Because I'm one of those who still buy albums to get the cd-quality (which is the best quality you can get) and to support the artists.

EDIT: It also has something to do with the artist's reputation. You gotta respect their art.

Well then when you're really annoyed at, is the fact Em / others can't handle the fact people have heard some of the material prior to 'official' release date and therefore make new, lesser material.

People leaking material doesn't literally force Eminem to make new material, and material which isn't as good. He's still the one who makes that choice, so you should be mad at him for making that choice. And mad at him for not recognizing that the new material isn't as good.

Just because the leak(s) may have caused that chain reaction doesn't mean the leaks are to blame for the material not being as good. Em is still the one who made it, and put it on.

So no, I'm mad at Em. For not accepting the fact some leaks WILL happen, it's unavoidable and it's not worth reshaping your fucking album over. And I'm mad at him getting lazy when he does decide to make new material. I can understand the frustration but it's fucking life, act accordingly.

And as for anybody who complains about leaks for them hearing shit early - it's YOUR choice to listen to it or not. You can CHOOSE to ignore every leak and listen as you would if nothing had leaked. You make the choice to indulge in the atmosphere too, so you can't blame anybody for that.

Artists should be fucking flattered that people care enough to even want to leak their material, not annoyed that they are. The frustration that the element of mystery and that revealing of the cloak on X date is destroyed, I can understand - but the flattery that people even care enough to want to do that remains. And you know that you're worth something, as an artist.

Nope, I also find it annoying. I like getting new music, but the people who leak it act like they're God and all powerful and try to get people to beg for the music. Not to mention them leaking the songs (especially if they're obviously new and unfinished) just messes with the artist and the songs and upcoming albums from the artist. If it's just old shit that would never be released anyway and is decent, then I don't think it's such a big deal.

Even though I like "syllables", I would much rather have never heard it if Eminem and his people never intended it to be released.

I don't think the people who leak are the problem but the people who sell those tracks aka the ones in Em's/Dre's camp. That's what happened to the Encore tracks as well. I hope they "bust" both the sellers and the leakers in this case. You can't just destroy history taking place here, that's wrong. Now for other leaks, let's say Lady Gaga leaks, I don't care but this is just wrong. And it shows that whoever leaks this has no interest in hiphop whatsoever. It took Dre 10 years to get this right and now the tracks get leaked so he ends up putting weak songs on it because he can't make any better songs and there goes the CLASSIC.
