Some idiots on this site, when they're asked "Best Em albums" or w.e, they might have Recovery above TES. It's quite sad.

Are you saying people can't even have a fucking opinion here??
Fuck off you little bitch.

There is not a fucking way to put comparatively mediocre Recovery over comparatively classic The Eminem Show.

There were three relationship songs out of the 17 songs on Recovery. Space Bound, Love The Way You Lie, and 25 To Life. And I don't really count 25 To Life either because it's not about a woman, it's about hip hop. That's not "too many", are we listening to the same album?

I just couldn't put it over Recovery because.. Well, everything about The Eminem Show is better, quite simply.

Far from true.

I've been a fan of Em since 2003 and have been listening to ALL his albums almost religiously for a long time. I love each one of them for what they are (except for -- obviously -- Encore), and I've come to the conclusion that Recovery is my favorite. And I'm not saying that after a "couple" of listens to the album. I listened to it in its entirety close to a thousand times, so I'm trying to be as objective as possible.

I can see why some people love TES so much, specially if you had it since back in the day, but to call it "vastly superior" or "so much better" than Recovery is hyperbole.

But like I said, I had no emotional attachment to Eminem albums in the past, so that definitely gives my an advantage I believe.

TES, MMLP, Recovery

Albums where Em is standing up aren't appreciated as much.

SSLP, Encore

Albums where you don't know whether he's sitting down or standing up go either way.

Relapse

:coffee:

LOL

SSLP shits on every album ever made.

Fucking awesome. Masterpiece. But since Recovery is the new kid on the block and enough time hasn't passed, is not seen in the same way as past albums.

I think that, too, at times. I HOPE that's the case.

Because when I look back on the SSLP, the MMLP, TES, AND EVEN RELAPSE...I get this sort of smile on my face...this happy feeling...It's like, "ahhh, remember the good old days when these were realesed?"

Seeing the song titles alone makes me remember the old times...maybe enough time hasn't passed yet, and 'Recovery' will do that soon. Hopefully.

To be honest, I think that phase may just be starting for me. I listen to "Recovery" now and I think "Lord, please let his next album be more like this, and NOT like his recent collaborations."

It really depends on each taste.Give Recovery a few years and it might be considered a classic just like TES.For now TES has been released abt 9 years a go,where Recovery didn't even reached 1 year.I love them both, but for now TES is the classic for me :)

No offense....but it's not about taste....Taste would be if you LIKED it better...I'm talking about people who think 'Recovery' is lyrically better than TES.
NOT whether or not they like/enjoy 'Recovery' more.

And yes, if somebody thinks 'Recovery' is lyrically better then TES, they're wrong IMO.

Again, that pretty much depends of your tastes and preferences. For example, I think a song like Almost Famous is lyrically better than anything on TES, and I'm trying to be as objective as possible. Then there's stuff like Going Through Changes, Cinderella Man, Spacebound, etc. that rival the best he has done.

I'm a new fan, I got MMLP, SSLP, TES, and Recovery within a month. Its not nostalgia playing tricks on everyone. The first 3 are legitimately better than Recovery. Not saying that Recovery isnt good, but its not close to the first 3.
