I would have gone with Hello...that beat is amazing

Trust me, with that delivery, he wouldn't have made it in the Top 20 like he did with We Made You. His delivery on Hello is dull and boring (lyrics are spot on 100%) and the beat is okay, but the tempo was far too low to make any kind of impact. We Made You was fairly popular, some people liked it, some didn't. Relapse would not have been as successful as it was without We Made You

Elevator would have been a great first single...the beat is Eminem's classic sound from TRSS, Without Me, etc, and the song is funny and has one of the best hooks he's ever done. Why he didn't put this on Relapse I don't understand.

I agree, Elevator is the shit :y:

Replace Crack A Bottle and make Elevator a single and Relapse would have been even better :flutter:

isnt it cause they made him do that corny single shit...everyone is responding like relapse was the album, and they chose we made you, when he was forced to make that song for the lead single, its backwards...what menzo said tho, minus hello being the single. idk what i'd pick from that album, i'll have to think about it, but must be the ganja was dope, the hook tho makes it not really able to be done tho that song wasnt about weed anyway :sweating:

Ruined the fucking album for me. Again, not because the song is that bad, but it's totally out of context, it's for an entirely different sound an album, it's a big detraction because of just how different it is. It just sounds wrong there and takes away from the 'album' / overall feel.

I suspect that Em was in fact using this "I put it on there to remind me" bullshit as an excuse / cover for the reality which probably was, Interscope needed some kind of commercial guarantee so that song was the fallback song. Because everything else was about murder and rape, so after the celeb-jibing he needed the usual, emotive pull in. But that should of been "Deja Vu".

I also think it was slightly calculated and considered because, I think he did all the Relapse shit but because it was extreme and experimental, he put "Beautiful" there as a test, to see if people hated the new shit but loved that. So that if they did, he could switch to that. And what happened after the mixed reaction? Despite him initially saying he didn't want to complain or be emotional = he made an album in the vein of "Beautiful" - rock samples, singing and emotion. Because that's what got the best reaction. That's a fail for him as an artist, he's compromising for other people's needs.

Just like he used drugs as an excuse for Encore and Relapse lmao. Notice how, he's basically never once taken responsibility for a bad move or thing he's done. I don't believe him "coming out" of this 'drug zone' was the reason for Relapse. If you watch the interviews around then he was the same guy, he absolutely knew what he was doing, he wasn't slap-happy, and he obviously thought about it a lot - the sheer detail of the lyrics proves it. It's very calculated.

So when it got a mixed reaction, he bowed to pressure to give people what they wanted - emotional realism and bitching. And then pretended Relapse was a mistake.

But I bet he loves it.

"We Made You" isn't even bad. It's totally exageratted how 'bad' that song is. If you actually listen to it, with predujice or hate for his 'celeb format' aside, the actual rhyming and flow etc. are very good. And he pokes fun at himself again, the only shit bit was the fart.

But, the only thing which ruined it was the video.

I think it should of gone like this...
1. Taking My Ball (in place of "We Made You")
2. 3am
3. Medicine Ball
4. Deja Vu

With very artsy, committed, visually interesting videos for all of them. Relapse could of been a masterpeice, he fucked it up by being half-hearted with a few things and not being committed to his vision and just doing what he wanted. He should learn from Kanye.

The songs from Relapse are so descriptive and surreal, and it's such a unique style that, seriously committed visuals with the right songs could of resulted in a major highpoints for him as an artist. And something very special. I'm actually annoyed at how it's wasted now.

i dont see how Hello is boring but each to their own. I love the way he flows on this track, the voice is barely an "accent" it just gives the song uniqueness i feel.
