Is Encore really THAT bad?

Um no, but I think it would be more appreciated if it had been his debut album.

(Yes, yes, it couldn't be because he's referencing old stuff and YADDA YADDA but whatever.)

It would be like "Obviously his later albums are a lot better, but it was a solid debut. Sure, some of the songs were silly and stupid, but most were quite decent and a sign of even better things to come"

It's the fact that Encore was so thoroughly disappointing after three classics in a row that makes people think it's even worse than it is.

That's my point, in a way. It's because he dropped three classics before Encore that people think it's bad. Now everyone's jizzing their pants over every single leak no matter which era it's from. I still think people would love it if it dropped now.

Encore isn't that bad to me. I know everyone here hates it, but I don't think it's horrible by any means. I get that about three or four of the songs are bad, but otherwise, it's not an awful album.

I don't hate it. I think it's great. In fact, I love it. I can see why a lot of people don't. But before I get shit thrown my way, I just wanna say that I think it's got a lot to do with the time it dropped. By coincidence I got my mother to buy me TES (my first Em album) when it dropped. And I don't know, but Encore kind of "confirmed" I was an Eminem fan. So I guess it's more... personal for me.

Encore isn't that bad, it gets a lot of unnecessary hate. That doesn't mean I like Encore, but I don't need Eminem or anyone else to tell me which songs to like and which songs are horrible. There are a few good/great songs amongst the bad songs. So, as a hip hop album, it's not bad. As an Eminem album, it's below his standards drastically

Don't see what's wrong with the album tbh. I liked the majority of it, at least.

Ass Like That - Don't mind it, but no replay value.
Big Weenie - I actually like this song. It's funny, and the part where he slips into that flow where he says "You munch a buncha Crunch n Munch" is awesome.
Cazy in Love - Decent...I don't like the hook.
Encore - Like it.
Evil Deeds - Like it. I listen to it all the time.
Just Lose It - Loved this when I was little and first found out about Eminem. Not so much anymore.

Mosh - People hate this song...don't know why. I love it.

The ones where he was trying were horrible because he was a zombie. Lyrically, vocally, and in terms of overall delivery/flow. Awful.

Dre didn't even try on the production because he knew Ambienem couldn't deliver.
